Page 16 of Texting the CEO's Obsession
Nick: You can always talk to me.
Riley: I’ve already talked your ear off about my day.
The texts come in one after the other, and I smirk as I see the perfect opening.
Nick: Let me help you wind down, then. Can’t have you worked up all night, after all.
Riley: How? Not that I don’t believe you could! I just mean we don’t even know where we live in relation to each other. I’m way too beat to go out tonight.
Her innocence is going to get her in a world of trouble with me.
It’s just too cute not to corrupt.
Nick: I can’t make it out tonight, either.
Idoknow where she lives, though. It would only take me half an hour to get there. That’ll come later, when she knows who I really am. When she’s properly caught in my web.
Nick: Run yourself a bath. Bubbles, candles, music, the works. Close your eyes and take the time to soak.
I’d run it for her if I were there.
After I fucked her brains out, of course.
Riley: How am I supposed to text my favorite mystery man if I have my eyes closed?
So shedoesknow how to tease. Adorable. Too bad for her, I’ve been playing that game much longer than she has.
I’m something of an expert.
Nick: I better be your only mystery man, Miss Morgan.
I don’t share well. As a matter of fact, I don’t share at all.
While I’ve been watching Riley’s every move at work for over a year now, there’s a slim chance she could be seeing someone I don’t know about. Even if that were the case, I’ll just have to get rid of him.
I’m the only one who deserves Riley’s attention.
And I’ll damn well make sure that I’m the only one whowillget it.
She sends me a laughing emoji and a gif of a bunny with heart eyes. A grin tugs at my lips as I scratch lazily over my chest. Part of me wants to push her, just to see how far I can make her bend before I break her. But she’s so damn innocent… so much so that it makes me crave her more. Just knowing that she’s home alone right now in desperate need of attention drives me insane.
Riley: I don’t make a habit of this, you’ve got nothing to worry about.
Nick: Don’t make a habit of what?
It takes her a few seconds to start typing again, the three little bubbles at the bottom of our texting popping up and down repeatedly as she tries to type out her text. It takes a few moments, and I can only imagine she’s blushing as her response comes in.
Riley: Talking to guys. Flirting. It’s just not something I do, like, ever.
The possessive part of me preens at the information. I smirk as pleased warmth curls in my gut.
Nick: Good. Let’s keep it that way.
I’m not going to stoop low enough to tell her that I expect to be the only person she talks to like this, but she’s a smart girl. She can read between the lines. She sends me another laughing emoji, this time followed with an eye roll and a cute purple heart.
Riley: Want me all to yourself?
Oh, if only she knew.
