“A sailor?” Elsa’s eyes shot back and forth. “Brodie sails, doesn’t he?”
Mallory scowled at her, as though to say,won’t you drop it?
“I can’t think of anything else about him exactly,” Ms. Lanson said, clearly embarrassed.
Elsa nodded, arching her brow as a powerful rage came over her. “We need to call the police.”
“I’m on it,” Mallory affirmed, grabbing her cell.
Together, Nancy and Elsa glowered at Ms. Lanson, enraged that her greed had taken her outside the bounds of traditional antique selling. No paperwork meant this was probably a dead end, especially if the police couldn’t find any sort of clues or prints upon the items.
Still, they had to try.
