I pulled her into a lineup for some food, eyeing the sign for mini donuts. I needed to get her all to myself for a while. “Thank you for that.”

“For what?” She blinked sparkling hazel eyes at me.

“For being so amazing to Casper. He gets a lot of shit for being mute. I’ve never seen a single girl take an interest in learning to sign for him. He better not steal you away.” I pressed a kiss to her forehead.

She playfully slapped my chest. “Anyone who gives him a hard time for that is a fucking jerk. And give me a break. He’s not interested in me. He likes Luna. Maybe I should try to set them up.”

While Codie rambled on about how amazing Luna was, I couldn’t stop wondering how the hell I got so damn lucky. She was midsentence when I cut her off with a kiss.

“You are mine forever,” I whispered against her lips. “I’ll never let you go, strawberry. There’s nowhere you can run that I won’t follow.”

She threaded her fingers through mine, tightly squeezing my hand. With a quirk of her lips she asked, “Is that a challenge?”

I chuckled. This woman really was made for me. “Abso-fucking-lutely.”
