“I meant we should look for the radio manual. I’ll do it myself,” Sterling huffed as she undid her seatbelt and started looking through all the compartments in the cockpit. As she found manuals and checklists, she skimmed through them, tossing what she didn’t need on the floor.
“Shouldn’t you know where the list is?” he questioned. “You’re the flight attendant.”
“This is pilot stuff,” Sterling said curtly. She had no idea if a flight attendant was supposed to know where everything was in the cockpit. The good thing was that Jake didn’t seem to know either.
The plane jumped and bucked. Sterling fell, knocking her knee on a consol. Ignoring the pain, she grabbed at anything to keep her in place as the turbulence threw them around.
Jake made an inarticulate noise as the clouds parted to reveal the side of a mountain dangerously close and coming closer as they flew towards it.
“Pull up!” Sterling shouted as she launched herself into the co-pilot chair, struggling with the seatbelt straps. “Pull up!”
Jake yanked on the stick and the plane tilted, pushing them backward into their seats.
