Page 12 of Stolen Hearts (WaterColor Romance #7)
Autumn was surrounded by her friends, but her eyes always found their way back to Quinn.
Lip Smack had all the trappings of a new trendy spot.
The crowd was buzzing around her with all kinds of people.
Autumn had expected the bar to appeal to the lesbian demographic, but she was glad to see that it had far-reaching appeal beyond that.
Still, even with the crowd and the low lighting her eyes managed to zero in on Quinn like a missile finding a target.
Autumn was listening to Mel and Willow talk about their upcoming wedding.
She should be listening to what her friends were saying, she was going to be a bridesmaid after all.
Instead, she was looking at Quinn across the room.
She couldn’t help but admire how good Quinn looked in her suit.
The woman was a solid ten without a suit, but in the suit, she was off the charts.
For the millionth time that night she considered how nice it would be to see Quinn undressing.
Her suit open and exposing her breasts. Autumn pushed the thought aside.
She was never going to make it through the night if she kept having sexy thoughts about Quinn.
Autumn stole what she swore was one final look at Quinn.
The woman certainly didn’t make it easy to avoid having sexy thoughts about her.
When Autumn turned back to the group, she found that everyone had left except Piper. She felt her cheeks burn hot. Clearly, Autumn had missed something. Piper stood with her arms crossed grinning at her.
“Having a hard time focusing?” Piper mused.
“Oh, be quiet,” Autumn sighed.
“You wouldn’t happen to be looking for Quinn, would you?”
“Hush,” Autumn said in a raised whisper.
“Trust me, friend, everyone already knows.”
Autumn rolled her eyes and huffed a large sigh.
“Did I miss anything important?” Autumn finally asked.
“No. Just the same wedding plans we already know about. You and Quinn are definitely bouncing off one another tonight,” Piper suggested.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, when you aren’t looking for her, she’s busy looking for you,” Piper laughed.
Autumn was taken aback.
“Quinn has been looking at me, too?” Autumn asked.
Piper pinned her with a look of disbelief.
“Are you serious? You came here in that dress, and didn’t expect to be the center of Quinn’s focus?” Piper gave a loud laugh.
Autumn’s blush deepened.
“I just wanted to look nice for the opening,” Autumn argued.
“Mission accomplished.”
“Okay but I look nice and not like I just want attention, right?” Autumn asked suddenly self-conscious.
“Friend, all I’m saying is that you look amazing. So amazing that it’s ridiculous to think that Quinn wouldn’t be stealing glances of you.”
Autumn’s smile widened. There was something about knowing that Quinn was checking her out that turned her on.
“Ugh, Quinn wants to wait and go on a date tomorrow night.”
“You can have some fun tonight and go on a date tomorrow night.”
“Should I go talk to her again?”
“Yes. And you should go claim exactly what you want. She’s not the only one who has been waiting for this night,” Piper smirked.
Her friend definitely had a point. Autumn had spent her fair share of time thinking about what she would do, and how she wanted tonight to go.
“I think you’re right. No reason why Quinn should be the only one setting the pace,” Autumn smiled wide.
“Go let her know what you want,” Piper urged.
Autumn glanced around the bar. Everyone was having a great time even as the crowd began to thin. There were plenty of servers on staff to fulfil orders.
“I think I’m going to go do that. Thanks for the pep talk.”
“What are friends for,” Piper grinned and waved Autumn on.
Autumn had never been known for her subtlety.
When she wanted something, she went for it.
She had always been that way. Quinn was standing alone at the other side of the bar, and Autumn decided to seize her chance.
She walked up behind Quinn and blew into her ear.
Quinn flinched then smiled when she saw it was Autumn.
“You startled me,” Quinn admitted.
“Sorry. I couldn’t resist. How’s your night going?”
“Really well. This is everything I dreamed it would be. And you were a big part of bringing it into reality.”
“I was just one cog in the wheel. You brought the whole thing to life.”
Quinn nodded, still taking in everything.
“Are you heading out?” Quinn asked.
Autumn knew this was her moment. It was now or never.
“Actually, I was thinking there’s one thing I still haven’t seen yet.”
“What’s that?” Quinn asked, her surprise so genuine it almost made Autumn smile.
“Your apartment,” Autumn whispered.
Autumn was pretty sure Quinn audibly gulped. Quinn leaned in her lips brushing the shell of Autumn’s ear as she whispered.
“Are you sure this is what you want?”
A shiver ran down Autumn’s body. Her core clenched when she imagined the possibilities of what could happen next. The sensation almost kept her from being capable of answering.
“I am. Very sure.”
Quinn offered Autumn her hand, which she took. Quinn smiled shyly and led Autumn through the crowd. She couldn’t help but wonder what Quinn’s apartment would even look like. Quinn led her up a set of stairs in the back. Autumn smiled as the sounds of the party became more distant behind them.
When Quinn opened the door Autumn was surprised by what was waiting on the other side. Her furniture was a mix of modern and bohemian. Clean lines mixed with comfortable chairs and a plush couch.
“What do you think?” Quinn asked.
“I like it.”
“Glad it’s interior designer approved.”
“It definitely is.”
Autumn glanced around the room. She considered asking to see the bedroom, but that would probably be too forward. Instead, Autumn sat on the couch and patted the cushion beside her. Quinn gave her a crooked grin but took her spot beside Autumn on the couch.
“Is it everything you thought it would be? Quinn gestured to the apartment.
“And so much more,” Autumn admitted. She met Quinn’s eyes and held the contact.
She could feel the invisible string between them stretched taut, waiting for one of them to give in.
In the end it was Quinn that leaned forward first. The lean in was subtle but the move was exactly the encouragement that Autumn had been waiting for.
She surged forward her lips finding Quinn’s.
An electric pulse flowed through her lips.
Quinn’s teeth caught hold of her lower lip and Autumn moaned.
Quinn gave Autumn’s lower lips a hard suck, that sent ripples of pleasure crashing through her body.
Autumn had waited so long for this moment of contact.
She had every intention of enjoying it to the fullest. Quinn’s hands found her breasts, her palms massaging her nipples through the fabric of her dress.
Autumn allowed her head to hang back against the couch cushion.
Autumn’s hands bracketed Quinn’s hips, holding on for dear life as the woman continued to tease her.
Quinn’s hand dipped inside her dress playing with her nipples more directly.
The pleasure building inside of her was reaching an intoxicating level, so Autumn stood sliding out of the dress.
She allowed the garment to fall to the floor, then slid off her heels.
The hunger growing inside of Quinn’s eyes told Autumn that the woman liked everything she saw. Autumn couldn’t wait for her turn.
