Ziggy removed his leather jacket and extended his arm. He grabbed my injured arm and flipped it over directly next to his. “You can’t outrun your fate, Koven. Not anymore. And if I can’t have you, no one can.”
“No!” I tried to wriggle free, but I was in too much pain and unable to escape him. Ziggy stuck the needle into my vein and slowly injected the entire thing. “No!” I instantly felt sick, a cold feeling traveling through my veins as my body fell limp and slammed into the wall.
No.
I watched, unable to move, as Ziggy lifted the second syringe and injected it into himself with a smile. He exhaled, dropping the empty syringe as he looked at me. “Now we can be together. Forever.”
Ziggy swayed and fell over, his head landing directly in my lap. I couldn’t move, and instead watched as the life within my stepbrother’s ocean eyes faded away, leaving nothing but an empty shell of the man he once was.
A single tear rolled down my cheek and landed on his face as I felt my own life slip away.

I faintly heard the door to the back room open, followed by the sound of footsteps. Suddenly, my head rose, and I found myself staring straight into the eyes of a monster.
Johnny.
He looked at Ziggy and I both and scoffed. “Pity.” My head fell as he released me and walked away. “Such a waste.” The door shut, and within seconds, everything fell into absolute darkness.
In the end, death came for me. Just as it did before, only this time, there was no coming back.
