It was easy making it to the Golden Grand Luxe without being seen by Max’s or Achilles’s security details. Max knows I’ve been hiding from him. He must think I’m still in my apartment. Also, I gave the concierge my second fake name ever, and he escorted me to an elevator that opened to a luxury suite.

I’ve been sitting on the sofa, gazing out at the city lights. My nerves are on edge. I feel funny tonight.
