Wolfie Bliss
I t wasn’t long before Sylus handed me a cup of peppermint tea and draped a blanket over my shoulders. The fire in our presidential suite crackled as he took a seat near me by the hearth.
“Is it really over? I mean, like at least for tonight?”
“I don’t think Jackie has it in her to go after you tonight. Your Luna and witch power kicked her ass pretty good, Sesi. Plus, I already filled Ciro in. He, Beck, and the rest of their packs are patrolling the borders. She and Demetrese can’t get near us.”
He pulled me onto his lap.
“What do you think we should do with all this time we have alone with each other?”
Warmth spread through my chest and then throughout my body. In the beginning, I never knew if it was just a stupid wolfy thing between us. But for the first time since we met, I knew the answer to that question with absolute certainty .
I cupped his face and kissed him hard and fierce, all while knowing what it would lead to, and I wanted it. I wanted him more than breathing. We almost lost each other. He’s more important to me than life itself, and I had to be with him, show him just how much he completes my soul.
I tugged at his shirt so I could slide my palms over his hard planes. Heat met my hands the minute they connected to his skin. Sylus broke the kiss, sucking in a breath.
“I want you. All of you, baby, but if you aren’t ready?—”
“I want all of you, too.”
Sylus smiled as he pulled me on top of him. Cupping my ass, he lifted me off the couch.
“I’m taking you to the bedroom so we can christen the sheets.”
I let out a giggle as he ran to the room and locked it.
We tossed our clothes over the chair and gazed at each other, memorizing each curve, beauty mark, and scar for a long moment because Sylus reached for my hips and pulled me close.
The tip of his shaft twitched, teasing my entrance.
His hands slid down my hips and cupped my backside as he kissed me.
Soft at first. But his kisses grew hungrier once he pulled me closer to him.
“God, I can’t get enough of you.” He whispered over my lips as he pressed a few kisses to my cheek, followed by my jaw, while walking me to the bed. My thighs hit the mattress, and he guided me down softly, placing his legs on either side of my hips.
“I love you, Sesi, so, so much.”
“I love you, too, Sy.”
My hips instinctively arched into him. A heat flashed across his eyes before he kissed my collarbone and plunged inside me.
I grasped his shoulders as my hips ground to meet him.
I wanted nothing more than to have him inside me deeply and wholly.
Heat pooled around my core as we thrust a little faster, harder.
He cupped both of my breasts, giving each nipple a squeeze.
The sensation hit my core as tiny explosions of passion lit every muscle within me.
“That’s it, baby. God, you feel so damn good!”
I clutched at his hips, pushing him down to match each of his thrusts. He let out a low growl before he nipped my collarbone.
“You’re mine.”
I gripped his hair as his fangs pricked my skin. My body exploded with sheer bliss. I moaned his name in his ear while riding out the ripples of ecstasy. He matched my heat as my fangs bit down on his collarbone.
“You’re mine.”
He let out a chuckle.
“I love you, Sesi Charming.”
“And I love you, too.”
After collecting our breath, he kissed my temple and rolled to his side, facing me.
“That was incredible. You’re incredible. ”
He pulled me onto his chest.
“Promise me we’ll do that again after I gain back some energy?”
I said it to him in almost a whisper. My body was weak from the fight, and my eyes grew heavy. As soon as I closed them, sleep overcame me.
Light pierced through the bedroom as the sun rose over the mountains.
It had been forever since I’d witnessed a sunrise.
I was always up before the sun, doing whatever Jackie asked.
I pulled on a robe and padded over to the floor-to-ceiling window, taking in the sunrise as my long-awaited treat. Soon a pair of arms wrapped around me.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
“Not as beautiful as you.”
I slapped his arm.
“That’s corny, even for you.”
Sylus shrugged and walked over to the coffee table by the window and gestured at the array of baked goods and orange juice.
“Want some breakfast before we have a sit-down with the entire Scooby Gang?”
“Just coffee is fine. I’m not really that hungry, and I want to throw on some clothes and brush my teeth.”
“Alright. I’ll meet you downstairs then. The coffee will wait for you in the dining room.”
I changed quickly and headed to the dining area, where the whole gang greeted me.
“So what’s the verdict? Will Jackie be attacking us today, or do you think she’s still licking her wounds?”
My heart hung on my last few words. I wanted nothing more than to believe them, but I knew better. Jackie wouldn’t leave me alone until I was dead.
“We have six months before she’ll try to strike us again.”
“Oh? Why’s that, Ciro?”
“When I was patrolling last night, I came across the intel. Apparently, her next idea is to strip your powers from your entire coven line. For that, she needs the power of the lunar eclipse.”
I let out a sigh.
“Hey, from what I saw yesterday, I don’t think she can pull it off. Your Yin and Yang Fated Mate ability is gaining more and more power. Your auras are practically in sync.” Raine said as he palmed the back of my hand. “Plus, you’ll have all of us right there beside you in the fight.”
Heat rushed to my cheeks. The pink aura Raine was talking about had little to do with power and a lot to do with what they did last night.
“Still, this break will give us the time we need to perfect Sesi’s battle skills.
I spoke with Cheveyo, and he fears Jackie will side with a rival pack this time—specifically Lenox.
He joined a pack in Colorado, and we’ve been keeping tabs on how much territory they’ve gained.
We don’t want another Were War. The last one nearly decimated all magicals.
But? We have the next six months to prepare. ” Said Ciro.
I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Six months wasn’t forever, but given the last decade of feeling trapped thanks to Jackie, I’d take any blip of time I could spend with the people I love. Strong arms wrapped around me, and I leaned into them.
“Six months without Jackie sounds wonderful. But just to be safe, maybe all of you should stay at our place in Magnet Cove. The pack can protect all of you. And once the babies decide to come into the world, we have a resident doctor with a fully equipped hospital.” Said Sylus.
“I think we should take Sylus up on his offer, Skye,” Raine said as he kissed her cheek.
Alec looked at Morgan, and she nodded.
“Then it’s settled. Alec—do you mind getting in contact with Cheveyo, Keme, and Zhang? I think we’ll need them at the inn, too.”
“Sure thing, Sylus.”
“Well, if there’s nothing else, we should all head out to Arkansas. I’ll call Bear to hold a few cottages for everyone. Ciro, I’ll reserve one for you and Verena for next week.”
“Thanks, she should be back from Effeminate by that point.”
Sylus said this before walking up to me. He leaned into my ear, whispering.
“Sounds like we have a honeymoon to enjoy when we get home. And I fully intend to take advantage of this six-month break.”
I smiled. It was the first time I’d smiled in a decade. Nothing had made me happy until I fell in love with my Charming. And that was my wolfy bliss.
Oh, my dear readers, isn’t that beautiful? Pure wolfy bliss! Yes, yes, this is the end… for now. Savannah Silverwand has left the building! I’ve always wanted to say that. Tootles, dearies!
