After lunch, I sat on the sofa in my apartment and texted Mason to be sure he’d be around for a FaceTime call to meet Ezra, who was currently using the bathroom.
Lucas
Bro, are you and Jett available to meet Ezra via FaceTime?
Mason
Hell yes. Even if we weren’t, I’d make us available for such a momentous occasion.
I chuckled. Of course, he’d put it that way.
Lucas
Good, I’ll call in a few minutes and hey, do you guys want tickets to see my first home game with Ezra on Tuesday?
Mason
Again, hell yes. I think we can get tickets ourselves, though.
I smirked. He might have already been planning on it. I wouldn’t put it past him.
Ezra ambled from the bedroom, combing his fingers through his long bangs. “Well?”
“They’re around. Come here.” I patted the cushion next to me. Was he nervous? Meeting his sister had been easy, maybe because I hadn’t had time to think about it.
After dropping in next to me, he slid his palms against his jeans, over his thighs and forced an exhale. “Okay. I’m ready.”
I wrapped my arm around his shoulders, kissed his cheek, and dialed Mason. As I held the phone in front of us, it chimed and picked up.
Mason’s face came into view, his blue eyes the same color as mine and hair a little straighter and darker. “Bro, good to see you.” He shifted the phone and Jett came into view, his long-dirty blond hair falling to his cheekbones, surrounding his green eyes.
With a quick smile, Jett waved. “Hi Lucas and I’m pleased to meet you, Ezra.”
“It’s a pleasure.” With a glance at me, Ezra offered a soft grin.
“Well, it’s official. My brother has a hot boyfriend.” Mason cackled. “Dude, you know how to pick ‘em.”
“Babe, tone it down.” Jett huffed. “You haven’t even introduced yourself properly.”
“I don’t have to. He knows who I am.” Mason’s face filled the screen. “Right, Ezra?”
Ezra chuckled. “Right, I certainly do.” He edged closer to my side.
Mason narrowed his eyes. “So, let’s get down to business. You’re a photographer and you met my brother on a shoot. How many naked pictures do you have of him?”
“Mason.” With a scoff, Jett pushed Mason off thescreen. “Don’t listen to him. He has no filter and apparently no manners.” He glared at Mason.
“I have manners.” Mason forced his way onto the screen. “How many?”
“Uh, only one that he took himself.” Holding the back of his hand over his mouth, Ezra sniggered, and his cheeks reddened.
“He sent you a dick pic?” Mason shifted his gaze. “Dude, no faces in the dick?—”
“My face isn’t in it.” I scoffed. “I trust Ezra anyway.” How the hell had we started off this way? It was Mason, that was how. “So, you’ll be taking Ezra to the game on Tuesday.”
“Sure, it’ll be a good time.” Mason smiled. “Ezra, how much do you know about hockey?”
“Some, but not too much. I never watched it until I started watching Lucas’s games.” Ezra chewed the side of his lower lip.
