Chapter Twenty-Four
Mackenzie
As promised, after dinner, Bryce ran us a bath. A sigh escapes me as I lie cocooned in Bryce’s strong arms, warm water lapping against our bodies. A chuckle rumbles through his chest as he kisses my shoulder. My hand finds the side of his face and I guide his mouth to mine for a slow sensual kiss.
Bryce takes his time ending the kiss, leaning his head against mine. I soft smile plays on my lips. “Thank you, for knowing exactly what I needed.”
He kisses the top of my head. “I like taking care of you.”
I push back against him causing his cock to jump between us. “I can think of another way you can take care of me.”
His arm bands around me waist holding me tight against him. “It would be my absolute pleasure.”
Bryce hops out of the tub and wraps a towel around his waist before offering me his hand and helping me out of the now lukewarm water.
He holds open a fluffy gray towel and I step into it before wrapping it around my body to absorb some of the water.
My eyes lock with his as he tucks a stray lock of hair behind my ear, fingers softly caressing my jaw.
“You are so beautiful. How did I survive without you in my life?”
It’s a rhetorical question; one I’ve asked myself many times.
Bryce Coban has come to mean so much to me in the short time we’ve been dating.
During the last few weeks, those three little words have been on the tip of my tongue, yet I’ve refrained from saying them unsure if he felt the same way.
Tonight however, the energy between us is different, it’s exciting yet calming at the same time.
Bryce reaches between us and tugs on my towel making it fall to the floor.
He scoops me into his arms and carries me to the bed.
He gently lays me on top of the mattress and then drops his towel, leaving him gloriously naked in front of me.
He reaches into the drawer of the bedside table and retrieves a condom.
His eyes find mine and I see the fire in them as he takes his shaft in his hand and strokes himself.
My hand skates down my body, before I reach my sex, Bryce shakes his head stopping me.
“No, Mackenzie. I’m the only one touching you tonight. ”
Bryce rolls the condom over his impressive length and climbs onto the bed and settles between my legs.
His fingers wrap around my ankle before lightly skating up my body leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake.
Once his hand reaches my hip, Bryce’s mouth replaces his fingers.
His tongue circles my navel before he begins kissing and nipping his way to my breast. My chest heaves as he sucks the harden peak of my nipple into his mouth.
My back arches off the bed and a deep moan escapes me.
“Bryce, please,” I beg as my finger thread into his hair.
“Soon, baby,” he promises as he turns the same attention to my other breast.
I writhe against him searching for the friction I need to give myself some relief. My fingers tighten in his hair, and I tug. “Bryce, I...need you.”
With his mouth close to my ear, Bryce’s warm breath caresses my neck “I need you to give me one, let’s see if you’re ready for me.” His hand cups my sex and he easily slides one long finger inside me before adding another. “Oh, sweetheart, you are dripping for me.”
“Oh, god!” I gasp as his thumb finds my clit.
He pumps his fingers, curling them inside me. My eyes clamp shut involuntarily. “Eyes on me baby.” I force my eyes open, and he grins as my back arches off the bed as my core clenches around his fingers and begins to spasm.
“Bryce!”
“So damn beautiful,” Bryce says pulling his hand from between my legs and slipping his fingers into his mouth. “So sweet and delicious a man could feast on your sweet nectar and not get his fill.”
A teasing smile pulled up the corners of my mouth. “Could he now? I’ll have to test your theory in the future.”
Jealousy flashes in his eyes as he covers my body with his. “Oh sweetheart, haven’t you heard? I’m the only one who’ll be testing my theory.”
I fight the grin wanting to appear. “Is that so?”
“Oh yeah,” he says pushing the tip of his cock inside me, making me gasp. “I love you Mackenzie Flynn, and I don’t intend to give anyone else the chance to steal you away from me.”
My hand cups his cheek as tears spring to my eyes. “Oh, Bryce, I love you, too.”
Bryce pushes fully into me before capturing my mouth with his.
He takes his time making love to me, keeping the rhythm slow and steady until we are both ready to fall over the edge into bliss.
He gently breaks our connection, walks to the bathroom and returns with a warm cloth to clean me up.
He tosses the washcloth on the bedside table and climbs back into bed.
He draws me into his side and kisses the top of my head. “Sleep now, beautiful.”
In the weeks after returning from Colorado Springs, the Generals hosted the Columbus Jaguars and the Indianapolis Legends and then began preparing for a road game against the Midland Mavericks.
On Monday afternoon, Bryce sauntered into my office, rounded my desk and kissed me. My eyes flutter open as Bryce drew away slowly before kissing me softly again.
“Quite the greeting there, mister Coban. To what do I owe the pleasure,” I tease as I close my laptop and swivel my chair in his direction.
“Mmm,” he hums in response piquing my curiosity to his visit. “As you know, we are flying out to Midland on Friday.”
“Yes, Sylvia sent out the email this morning asking if there were any special accommodations she needed to make.”
“Right,” he says standing and moving to sit in one of the chairs in front of my desk.
As I watch him, I realize I’m seeing something from Bryce he rarely exhibits.
Nervousness. On the field he exudes confidence, focused and ready to receive the ball and score for his team.
But here, in my office, I see a completely different person than the world sees on the field.
With me, he’s vulnerable, considerate and loving, all qualities needed to form a relationship worth pursuing.
It’s an observation I keep to myself as I wait for him to continue.
“I do have one accommodation I’d like to request, but I wanted to speak to you first.”
“Okay,” I say drawing out the word while resting my arms on my desk.
Bryce clears his throat. “I’d like to tell Sylvia we’ll be sharing a room from now on while on the road.”
“Would you?” I reply as I push my chair away from the desk, stand and walk around to where he’s seated. Bryce straightens in his seat as I approach. “Is there anything else?”
“One more thing,” he says as I take a seat on his lap, and he nuzzles into my neck kissing me on the soft spot below my ear. “I’d love it if you officially moved in with me.”
My fingers thread into the hair at the nape of his neck. “I still have almost six months left on my lease.”
Bryce laughs. “You think I give a damn about your lease?”
His hand cups my cheek, and I sigh as his thumb begins caressing me softly. “No, I’m sure you don’t. I don’t either, because I’d much rather live with you.”
He rests his forehead against mine. “I’m glad to hear that.” He kisses me again and says, “I should get going.”
I climb off his lap and watch as he walks to the door. He opens it and turns back to me. “What should I tell Sylvia?”
I grin as I reply, “Tell her we’ll share a room when the team travels.”
His smile is wide and instant. “Great. Love you, see you tonight.”
“Love you, too,” I say as he walks out of my office. I laugh as I hear him begin to whistle and then return to my desk to finish my notes.
