“Imagine what he’d be like in bed,” Lottie said, nudging her shoulder into Nessa’s.

“I’d die,” Nessa breathed, turning away to clean up more paper plates. “Seriously, I’d die.”

Lottie laughed but stopped, when arms wrapped around her from behind, arms that always made her feel safe.

Nessa scurried off, cleaning up far, far away from Ronan.

Hunt said into Lottie’s ear, “Poor Nessa, all that innocence is bound to get washed away at some point hanging with this group.”

Lottie smiled at her best friend. “I’m surprised it’s still hanging in there, but Ronan seems to be determined to set that right.”

Hunt chuckled, pressing a kiss to her shoulder. “He’s a good guy. You don’t have to worry about him.”

“Oh, I know, but that doesn’t mean I can’t make him squirm a little.”

“That’s my girl,” Hunt said with a laugh. He paused a moment. Then his voice thickened as he slid his hand lower onto her belly. “You were thinking about it, weren’t you?”

“About what?” she asked, playing dumb.

He pressed a kiss to her neck. “A baby. Our baby. Right here.”

She turned around, clasping her arms around his neck. “It might have crossed my mind.” Before he got any ideas, she added, “But for right now, I’m just happy. Happy being yours and yours alone.”

After all they’d be through, she had no idea what she did to deserve a man who fought so hard for her, but she’d never stop being grateful for it. “For always.” Then his mouth met hers, and she fell into that promise.
