"Sheronda says no... that she's buying the rights to the book—my story—not his. But if he decides to stick his nose in—and I don't think he would, for obvious reasons—she has a team for those kinds of problems."

"Yeah," Demarco chuckled, "a little."

"So, what's next?"

"She's flying me out to La La Land for a meeting."

"Will you have to move there?"

"No. I told her I wanted to stay in DC. Jack's work is here. Wilson is here."

"So, what did she offer you?"

"AP."

"A pea?"

"Associate Producer."

"Holy shit."

"I know. I told her that I had no experience."

"And..."

"She laughed... pretty hard."

"I guess there's a lot of that out there."

"Yeah... and she pretty much has carte blanche to do what she wants."

Demarco reflected. "That settles it. I'm getting my tarot cards read."

"So, you're having a meeting..."

"Yeah. She said we could meet for a few days and I can do the rest from here via phone, e-mail, and Zoom."

"Look out world, she's leaving Skype behind."

"We'll always have Skype, Alec."

"Wow. That's a better-than-average Bogie impersonation you've got there. You'll do well in Hollywood."

"Sheronda said that when she needs me, I can always fly out for a few days."
