I nod my head. “That came from Ashton.”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, we’ll get it done.”

“You’re not upset?”

“I’m not happy, but honestly, I’ll do anything to avoid going to jail, and Ashton knows his shit.”

She snorts. “Yeah, a sweet ass like yours is gonna get eaten up real quick in the slammer.”

“Ummm…let’s not talk about ass eating while we’re eating Chinese.”

She laughs so hard, rice flies from her mouth. “I didn’t mean it that way!”

“It’s hard to tell now. It’s being rapped about on the radio, and they’ve even started including it in sex ed. I hope little Beau enjoys his lessons.”

She quirks a brow. “Wait, really?”

“Yeah, when kids started going home and talking about it, there were a lot of angry moms.”

“Time to homeschool Beau!” She straightens her posture. “For chemistry today, we are going to learn the exact components necessary to create the perfect pink hue for hair dye.”

“He’ll definitely be a scientist.”

Mabel casts me an impish gaze. “So, what do you think of it?”

“I had this ex who I thought was just being sloppy during oral, but after a while, I found out he was totally hitting that mark on purpose.”

“And?”

“Ehhh, it was okay. You?”

“It’s not something I’ve ever desired.”

Ashton walks into the kitchen, and my eyes immediately rove his well-muscled form.

Down, girl! No ogling the enemy.

Mabel’s face brightens. “Ashton, I have a question for you!”

I roll my eyes, already knowing exactly what she’s going to say.

“What’s up?” he says, deliberately avoiding my gaze.

“How do you feel about analingus?”

Of course, she went with the more classy, technical term.

He shrugs his shoulders. “If I were dating a woman and it was serious, why not? Gotta keep the lady happy.”

I do a double take over to Mr. Stick Up Ass, fairly impressed with his answer.

“But you haven’t dated anyone in like…” Mabel’s voice trails off, and I see the unmistakable look of guilt in her eyes.

My gaze scans to Ashton, who now looks tense.
