“So, if I’m not mistaken, Friday is sans clothing?” he says.

“Yep.”

His eyes light in elation. “I can hardly wait.”

He bends to give me a kiss, then hesitates, pulling back when he realizes how awkward it is.

“You better go,” I say.

“See ya Friday.” He walks towards the door, turns back, and says, “By the way, there was almost no hint of Rosie tonight.”

“Maybe I don’t need any more sessions, then.”

He scowls. “Oh, I think you do.”

Jenna

“You need to give meallthe details!” Angela enthuses.

I eat another spoonful of yogurt, relishing her reaction.

“Come on! I’d give you a Blu Ray of any guy I’ve banged if I had one.”

The joke makes me snort yogurt onto my shirt.

“Dammit!” I blot the impending stain with a napkin, what little good it does.

“Can you be bribed?”

“No, but I can be encouraged.”

“Just tell me, is it impressive? He totally works out, but I’ve seen a lot of meatheads working with a Vienna sausage.”

“Oh-my-God—yes—it’s hugely impressive,” I say animatedly. “There, are you happy?”

“Now that I don’t have a chance,” she rolls her eyes dramatically, “no.”

“At least be happy for me, then.”

“So, was it a one-time thing, or are you guys trying to make the whole‘friends with benefits’thing work?”

“Ummm, well, you see, we didn’t exactly seal the deal yet.”

Angela scowls. “Then what did you do? Because you seemed pretty damn excited.”

“We’re going about this in three stages. Last night was Stage One.”

She laughs, clapping her hands together for emphasis.

“Wait, just a moment—in your Rosie Jetson deprogramming, you did exactly what Rosie Jetson would do?”

“Well, we couldn’t just go at it. This is more than a quick fling. It’s like a college course. You can’t learn everything in one night, and you need a syllabus.”

“Did you learn anything?”

“Not to be so overeager.”

“What was on the syllabus?”
