SOPHIE

“Wake up.” A sting explodes across my cheek.

“Wake the fuck up, you damn thief,” Jennifer snarls, smacking me again.

My eyes slowly open, and I squint against the glaring light above me. I try to move my hands but quickly realize they're bound behind the wooden chair I'm sitting in. Looking down at myself, I see I'm only wearing the pink bra and matching thong panties I had on for Mavis.

Shit.

Glancing to the right and left I notice men standing around the oversized warehouse with machine guns in their grip.

My gaze slowly meets a snarling Jennifer. “Bitch, I didn’t steal your man. You’re fucking touched in the head. He didn’t want you. None of you,” I spit.

Her fist crashes into my jaw. I taste blood and spit it onto the concrete.

“Did you kidnap me to keep me away from Ruthless?”

I’m trying to feel out this crazy bitch.

She steps back. “I heard a rich guy was offering fifty grand to find his woman,” she says with a smug little laugh.

“Preppy’s cute, sure. But I get it—you went for the big, burly biker. He knows how to handle you.” Her tongue drags across her lip like she’s reminiscing about their time together.

She stands up and claps her hands. “Now you're back with your man where you belong. I’ll be Ruthless’s club slut again,” she squeals.

This bitch is serious about going back to Mavis.

I smile the best I can. I feel my cheek swelling.

“You think Ruthless is just going to sit back and not ride for me?” It’s my turn to laugh.

“The man doesn’t care if I left on my own accord. He’ll look for me.”

Her eyes darken and her fists curl at her sides.

Don’t kick the snake, Sophie.

“You know what? Go for it. Be his club slut.”

Hard-soled footsteps echo across the floor, getting closer. Jennifer moves aside.

A wide grin spreads across his face. “Sophie, baby.” He widens his arms as he inches closer.

“I fucking missed you.” He leans in and presses a kiss to my lips.

I spit blood in his face, and he staggers back stunned.

“I was walking away from you, Toby. You hit me one too many times.”

His blue eyes darken. And his heavy hand connects with my jaw so hard I see stars.

“Ah,” I yelp.

“Preppy’s abusing you. Didn’t see that coming,” Jennifer mutters.

Toby whirls on her, grips her neck and punches her in the nose. His polished slicked-back hair shakes loose.

“Ah,” she cries.

“Go get your money and get the fuck out,” he roars.

“None of my business partners will want a delusional woman like you.”

Hand on her cheek she scrambles to her feet and runs toward a small room.

I’ll catch up with that bitch and kill her too.

Toby runs a hand over his hair putting it back in place. He straightens his tie as he approaches me.

“Thanks, Jennifer. You left me with a sex trafficker.”

He narrows his eyes. “Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Sophie. The buyer I had in mind for you is still interested. He’s willing to pay five million for you.”

His hand slides down my cheek and I jerk away.

“I hate you, Tobi,” I roar.

“Well, I fucking love you, Sophie. I kept you longer than the others. I didn’t want to give you up. But five million is a lot of money.” He flashes his handsome smile.

“I’ll send him a new picture of you. The one I got off the surveillance camera when you came to my club with that greasy biker,” he spits the words like Mavis is trash.

Toby’s eyes move over my body. “Did he fuck you, Sophie?”

I can’t tell him I’m not a virgin. Who knows what he’ll do.

“Ruthless is right. You’re a piece of shit human trafficker. Make your fucking deal. I hope you burn in hell.”

I drop my eyes to my lap.

“The biker stole you for a measly million dollars in weapons. Mavis Ruthless Marticon is one of the wealthiest men in the world. And he’s playing grungy biker.

His dirty shirt is in a twist because I stole from the Royal Bastards.

He could pay that money back to the MC. He and his brothers.

” He air quotes. “Hate that something was stolen from them. I see myself as a master thief.”

“You’re fucking sick,” I yell.

He plants a kiss on my head. “Just think, you’ll never have to see the biker again,” he chuckles as he walks away.

Tears slip down my cheeks. Did Mavis ever return to the clubhouse? It was around nine o clock when I went outside. By the time he learns I’m gone it will be too late to rescue me.

What will happen to me and our baby?

I just want to be back in Mavis’s arms.

“I love you, Ruthless,” I mutter.

I close my eyes and think back to one of my favorite moments. He pinned me against the side of the doghouse. His lips moved over my neck and breasts.

Mush whines at our side.

“Mush, this is my OL’ Lady. Back in the doghouse.”

Mush’s sad eyes meet mine. I pat his head. “Be a good boy. Go back into your doghouse.”

Mush struts back into his house. Lays down and rests his head on his crossed paws.

Mavis stares down at me. “So he only listens to you now?”

I chuckle. “He just wanted to make sure I’m safe.”

Mavis grins gripping my leg around his waist. “I can’t be mad at that. He knows you are the most important person in my life.” His lips crush mine.

The roar of motorcycles snaps me back.

“Fucking bikers!” Toby barks, yanking a Glock from his shoulder holster. “Cut her loose!”

“Ah,” I hear a man scream.

“Kill those assholes,” he orders his men.

Toby grabs my arm, jerking me to my feet. “We’re going for a plane ride. I’ll take you to the buyer myself,” he says.

He presses the gun into my side. We run toward the rear exit.

“Start the fucking engine.”

I guess he’s talking to the pilot through an earpiece.

I look over my shoulder as we approach the door. My eyes widen at the sight of Ruthless.

He’s taking down bad guys like he doesn’t have a care in the world. All to get to me.

“Sophie, Ruthless roars.

“Ruthless,” I cry out.

Toby pushes the back door open and yanks me into the warm night air. He presses the barrel of the gun into my back.

“Walk,” he orders.

I march up the stairs and walk onto the jet. Toby aims his gun at Ruthless.

“No!” I shove him, and the butt of his gun smashes into my skull. The world tilts as my body slams into something hard. Pain rips through my stomach.

“Oh, no…”

Darkness takes me.
