Page 139 of Rule 1: Never Accidentally Marry Your Teammate
Then Noah rips off his tie.
“Hot.”
Noah glares at me, then tosses the tie onto the floor. I totally understand why I woke up last time to a clothes-strewn floor.
Noah’s long fingers stretches across his broad chest, and he unbuttons his shirt. He moves way too slowly, and I hop off the bed.
“I’ll help you!”
Noah glowers, lifts me in his arms which are somehow even more bulky than when we met, but I guess that’s the NHL for you, and throws me back onto the bed.
“Rude.”
“You have a job,” Noah says.
“Oh, yeah?”
“I want to see you naked in five seconds.”
That’s all it takes. I tear off my clothes, and Noah tears off his clothes, and I wonder if Noah and I did more than snuggle in our sleep on our wedding night.
Well, we can recreate a racy version.
“On your knees,” Noah says.
I scramble for the perfect pose, then sense Noah stalk behind me.
He’s so sexy. I married the sexiest husband possible.
“Like this?” I ask.
“Nah.” Noah flips me onto my back, then climbs up between my legs. “I want to see you.”
“Aw.” I grin into his dancing eyes, then his lips are upon me, and I wrap my arms around him.
There’s probably no chance Noah will flee, but I hold him against me, just in case. His heart beats against mine, and our bodies are soon slick with sweat.
“I love you,” I say.
“I love you.”
“I mean, I really love you.”
He grins.
“Oh, no. I take that back.”
“What?”
“I mean, if you’re going to stop and stare at me. I mean, we could be kissing.”
He dives back into my arms. “Good call.”
Then there is much laughter, much love, and finally, much lovemaking.
And it’s awesome.
“Forever and ever?” I ask.
“And ever and ever,” he rumbles back, and if I didn’t decide to kiss him, I totally would still be staring at the ceiling with a blissful expression on my face.
A year ago, I assured myself everything would be fine, but I was wrong. It is fantastic, and I vow to spend the rest of my life showing Noah how happy I am that we ended up married.
