Chapter Twenty-One

Mason

Fixing my jeans, not even caring about cleaning myself up, I ran out of the theater. The bright lights in the hallway after the darkness had me blinking rapidly, trying to focus.

Seeing the nearest restroom sign, I headed towards it, nearly running. The sounds of someone being sick echoed off the tiled walls as I pushed the door open. Thankfully the room was empty, except for Ronen.

He was down on his knees in a stall, miserably losing the dinner we had just had.

Grabbing some paper towels, I wet them, then rung them out. Moving behind him as much as I could in the small space, I rubbed his back while he puked his guts up, trying to offer a small amount of support.

Breathing heavy, Ronen leaned his head on his arm across the stool .

“Done?” I asked quietly, but he just shook his head and vomited again.

Wincing in sympathy, I heard the door open, then quickly close. Likely someone would be heading to the second bathroom to use.

“Now I’m done,” he leaned back on his knees, and I gently wiped his mouth and face, at the same time hitting the flush button.

“I can’t say I’ve ever had anyone puke from the taste of my cum before,” I joked lightly. Ronen laughed weakly, then groaned, his hand on his stomach. “Something you ate?”

I was still only half joking, and only half making lewd jokes. He looked awful, poor guy, pale and sweaty.

Rocking back on his heels, he stared up at me, wiping at his eyes. “I think I’m pregnant.”

His quietly spoken words had me leaning against the stall wall in shock.

Sure, we’d talked about it being a possibility, but I hadn’t expected it to really happen. Ronen was on birth control, one of the most effective ones on the market. I had checked.

“I’m sure it was just something you ate,” I shook my head. “A bad shrimp or scallop.” Seafood went bad all the time, and it was hard as hell to notice.

He gave me an annoyed look that said I didn’t know a damn thing.

“It was the garlic,” he moaned again, one hand on his stomach, and swallowed hard. “It’s a Sinclair thing. All the omegas get super sick when they are pregnant and eat garlic. Even the ones who aren’t Sinclairs, but are carrying a Sinclair pup. I’m definitely pregnant. ”

“Okay, well, let’s not jump to any conclusions before we know for sure,” I tried to keep my voice calm, steady, while inside I was freaking out a tiny bit.

The door opened once more, and a voice called, “Everything okay in here?”

Leaning out of the stall, I saw a high school kid, dressed in the theater uniform, looking in hesitantly.

“My omega isn’t feeling well,” I explained. “Sorry for any trouble.”

“Oh,” his eyes were wide but sympathetic, “no trouble. Would he like a Sprite to help settle his stomach?”

Glancing at Ronen, he nodded, his lips a thin line as he concentrated on keeping his breathing even. “Yes, please, that would be great.”

The kid disappeared and I helped Ronen to his feet. He shakily made it to the sink, where he washed his hands. Gently steering him out of the restroom, I sat him on a bench seat close to the entrance door. I smiled when the employee brought over a soda for him, pulling out my wallet to pay him.

He waved me off with a smile, “Don’t worry about it. I hope you feel better.”

Ronen gave him a weak smile, watching as he made his way back to the counter and customers.

“I’m going to bring the truck around,” I told him. “You sit here. Don’t move. I’ll come in and help you out.”

“Mason, I can walk.” Ronen took a sip of the soda, swallowing slowly.

“And I’m parked way out.” The parking lot had been packed when we’d arrived and we’d had to walk a distance to the door. “You can sit here and wait, or I’ll carry you to the truck. Your choice. ”

Hands on my hips, I waited for him to make his decision. When his shoulders slumped, I knew I had won this argument.

“I’ll sit,” he grumbled, not at all happy about it, but I didn’t care.

He was white as a sheet and shaking. On the way to my truck, I pulled up my insta-cart app and placed an order to be delivered to my house from the big box store a few miles from me for items I thought would come in handy for his upset stomach.

With any luck, and a generous tip, it would be waiting for us when we got back to my place.

Taking Ronen to his home wasn’t an option. He lived way too close to his parents, and the last thing I needed, if he really was pregnant, was to turn around and find Jamie Sinclair standing there.

Nope, not happening. We had enough to deal with at the moment, without me having to deal with Ronen’s scary as fuck dad.
