Page 21 of Revenge Is a Dish Best Served… Wearing Heels?
After finally kicking off my heels, I crawled up on the bed, exhausted, elated, and more than ready to have this man's arms around me. And he didn't disappoint.
The second I was within his reach, he grabbed me, doing that manhandling thing again that I adored, pulling me to him and arranging me so I was the little spoon to his big one.
I sighed the world's happiest sigh, stunned that I'd actually received everything I'd asked for—the hottest sex ever with an incredibly handsome man plus the snuggles after. Let's face it. I was totally touch starved, and this would go a very long way to fix that.
Especially because every single inch of us touched in some way, his big arm around me, just under my breasts, pulling me tight to his chest, my ass nestled into him, our legs tangled together. The only word to describe it was delicious.
What I wouldn't give to have this every night.
His fingers made lazy circles on my arm, soothing me, lulling me into a trance while I let my mind daydream.
I mean, why not me? My sisters had certainly found good guys that loved and cherished them, and I happened to know they were very satisfied inallways. Why couldn't I have that too?
Just because society in general looked down on plus-sized girls didn't make us less than. And not everyone did. This man right behind me, literally worshipping me all evening, seemed to have no problem with my weight.
My mind really took a turn... because what if more could be had with my mystery man? What if we could take this further, take this beyond this one night?
Based on everything that had happened, how well we clicked both in and out of bed, we had an incredible amount of potential. Something like this didn't come along every day. In fact, it was extremely rare, and I'd be an idiot not to pursue it and see what could happen.
While my brain had been working overtime, apparently my phantom guy had fallen asleep and was currently dozing behind me, his fingers resting on my arm.
I smiled to myself. I guess I'd worn him out.
So what did I do now? Wake him up and say we should take off our masks? Tell him that I wanted to marry him and have his babies?
Holding in my laughter, I knew that was absolutely not the way to go. The man would probably run from the room naked, never to be seen again.
No. I had to be subtle and sly. Maybe play a little hard to get. Keep up the mystery and make him chase me. That was definitely the way.
And if he didn't chase me?
Well then, it wasn't meant to be, and I'd just go right back to my regular life. Which was exciting as hell. And something I loved. Truly.
His breath hot on my neck, I devised a plan. I'd let him fall deeper into sleep, and he'd hopefully let up on his grip. And then, I was going to sneak out, afterchecking his ID, which was surely in his wallet in his pants which were at the foot of the bed.
After I found out his real name, I would figure out the path forward, maybe do a little light stalking so I could happen to "bump" into him someplace sans mask and see if he'd recognize me, if our connection was real.
Yes, that was totally it. I was a freaking genius.

Time slowed to a crawl. It took everything in me not to fall asleep myself, my eyes so heavy that all I could think about was caving in to the wave trying to pull me under. With strong arms around me, I felt so warm and safe that the most natural thing in the world would be to drift off.
The only thing that kept me awake was the thought of finding out mystery man's real identity. I needed to stick to the plan. Ihadto.
I also couldn't help thinking that if I did happen to fall asleep, it'd be a very awkward awakening in the morning. Maybe I was brain-dead, but I couldn't work out any type of scenario where it wouldn't just be weird.
What if he woke up and in the bright light of the morning looked at me and regretted everything? What if I did the same?
No. It was much better to tiptoe out of here and preserve the memory of this perfect and magical night. And then, I'd execute my plan.
After what felt like hours, he finally moved his arm and legs, unraveling them from my limbs, although he kept his body close behind me. Not daring to breathe, I moved forward a fraction of an inch, then paused, waiting to see if he'd stir.
He didn't.
So I did the same thing, centimeter by centimeter edging myself off the bed. If he woke up, I'd just say I was using the bathroom or something. He'd have no reason not to believe me. But—and this was a huge but—I'd lose my opportunity to sneak a peek at his ID.
