“Because it’s where you live.”
He laughed. “I’m spending most of my time with you!”
“True. If it’s bad enough, maybe you should just come here and stay with me.”
“Oh, trust me, baby, it’s definitely bad enough. Tell you what. I’m supposed to go to dinner with Conor and Morris tonight. How ’bout I drop you and Starlight off at the apartment, go to dinner with them, bring food back to you, and I’ll grab some stuff and we can come back here. How’s that?”
She grinned. “That’s good. I can watch TV and take a nap in your bed.”
“You might want to change the sheets first.”
“Why? Do they have other woman funk all over them?”
“No, but I don’t think they’ve been changed in six months.”
“Tavish! Yuck!” He laughed at her and she made a face. “That’s just nasty.”
“Yeah, well, single guy living alone. Who cares, right? It wasn’t like I was trying to impress anybody.”
“So you didn’t bring women back there?”
“Nooo. I didn’t want them to think less of me. I went to their houses and messed around in their beds.”
Her eyes went wide, her brow dropped, and her mouth hung open for just a few seconds before she barked, “Man, I wish you hadn’t told me that.”
“Babe, I’m kidding! I haven’t been with anybody else in… Let’s just say a long time and leave it at that.”
“How long?”
“I dunno. A year? Year and a half?”
“I don’t believe you.”
“It’s true.”
“What about Bridget?”
Tavish gave her the side eye. “Ohhh, girl, you’re about to get in a lot of trouble with that sass.”
She started to laugh. “Yeah, probably banged her on the coffee table, huh?”
“Oh, yeah. It got all crazy up in there. Of course, that was difficult, seeing as how we were about two miles apart. I haven’t mastered that art yet. I mean, I’m big, but I’m notthatbig.”
She folded her arms across her chest and grinned. “Ah-hah, you’re big, huh? I see how you are.”
“I haven’t heard you complaining.”
She shrugged and gave him a little smirk. “Yeah, well, you’re right about that.”
“So we have the plan for this evening. And I’m going to take a nap.”
“Well, lucky you.”
He laughed. “Wish you could come with me.”
“Wish I could too. We can do that some other time. Right now, ordering for me.”
Tavish headed to the door. “Starlight, coming with me?”
