“I suppose, darlin’. What are ya getting at?”
Before the charter was patched over to Satan’s Sons, our club was known as Widowers. Now I rode for a club name that I once shot up; it was just the way the brotherhood worked, I guess.
“I really know how to pick them,” she muttered to herself, shaking her head before turning back around and looking at the city lights. “How long are you in town for?”
“Ride out tomorrow.”
“So tonight’s your last night in town?”
“What are ya getting at, babe?” I moved to stand behind her, placing my hand on her small hip. She froze at my touch, and my heart rate quickened. Fuck. I shouldn’t have touched her. Then she relaxed, slowly turning around.
“Nothing.” Those opal blue eyes stared up at me. She let out a long sigh. “Why did you bring me here,?”
“You were bored; I could see it in ya eyes. Thought ya might like to get away.”
I played it smart. I wanted to steal all her attention, and then she might not think I was a complete stalking prick.
“Thanks.” She smiled. “So, Kade...” she slowly bit that juicy bottom lip of hers, amusement flashing across her face. “You going to kiss me already or are you going to just keep staring at me?”
I took a sharp breath. “What the fuck did you just say?”
I didn’t need her to repeat it. It burned into my ears, but still I didn’t believe it. She looked smart, but right now she wasn’t acting it. I was too old, too dangerous for this angel.
“I said,” she took a step closer to me, placing her hand on my chest, “are you going to kiss me?”
I ran the back of my knuckles down the side of her face. Her skin was just as soft as I had imagined it to be. I wanted to kiss her. I wanted to do a whole lot more to her, but I was too old for her, and she was way too young for me.
“No, sweetheart, I’m not gonna kiss you.” As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t fucking do it. She was underage. She was the forbidden fruit.
While I was having a mental breakdown, I didn’t notice her rise to her toes before she planted a soft kiss on my lips.
She barely grazed it, but it was enough. It was enough to get a taste.
“What the hell was that?” I hissed. She had just hooked me on a drug I couldn’t get a real fix of, not for two fucking long years.
She pulled her head back, staring into my eyes. “I never said I wasn’t going to kiss you.”
“I’m too old for the likes of you, Abby.” Too old, too dangerous, and too fucking scarred for her.
“But yet I still want to kiss you again.” Abby smiled, a real full-blown smile. “You know, Kade, you really need to loosen up.”
“Ya flirting with fire, Abby,” I grunted as I walked past her, intending to sit on top of a picnic bench.
Stupid teenagers. They didn’t know what was good for them. Abby didn’t realize what she was doing.
“Kim can’t tease me anymore.” She followed me, grinning like a bloody teenager.
She is a teenager.
I was used to women—cold, loose, and used. Not this bubbly, happy, grinning shit. It reminded me again just how far she was out of my reach.
“What ya talking about, darling?” I searched my cut for my pack of cigarettes, but at the rate I was going, I was going to smoke the whole pack before I got her back to the clubhouse.
“Well, it’s not like I’ve lost my virginity or anything, but still, the first kiss is something.” She shrugged her shoulders and pulled herself up on the picnic bench next to me.
“That was your first kiss?” I couldn’t believe that bullshit.
“Yep.” She stole a cigarette from my pack before I even had a chance to get one out.
