Page 101 of Queen Takes Triune
Her head tipped slightly, her eyes shining in the moonlight. “What this queen takes, she loves, and what she loves, she keeps for all time.”
Each word hammered inside me, blow by blow laying waste to the desperate dam that I’d built over the years to contain the monster.
I couldn’t ask the question written on my heart. I had no right.
But her blood flowed through my veins. She read my heart effortlessly, and her smile broke the last vestige holding me back. “Yes. You’re mine, Okeanos. I took you from Marne, and I’m keeping you for all time. Unless… you’d rather go free? Because I would rather see you free and happy, than here with me and miserable.”
I surged inside her, unable to deny her anything.
My queen. At last. My queen.
She tightened her thighs around me and dipped her head. Not to my throat, but to the silver bar in my nipple. She licked and tugged, driving me mad. Surely that is why I grunted so viciously with every thrust. Why I tried to bash myself to death on her shore. Why I bellowed like the raging winds of a hurricane when she sank her fangs into my throat.
I poured into her. Every look of horror. Every scream of fear. Every cringe of dread. Every drop of shame. She took it all and sorted through the wreckage to find me.
To shelter me. Through the darkest storm.

SHARA
Iwas Shara fucking Isador. Last daughter of Isis.
A badass vampire queen, with twelve equally badass vampire knights at my beck and call.
Though only the newest Blood’s come was currently smeared on my thighs, I intended to work my way through all of them by daybreak.
I hungered. Not just for sex, though yeah, I wanted to fuck them all, as many as I could get into my bed at once.
I yearned for their touch. Their blood. Their bodies pressed against mine.
Even if one of them had tentacles or scales or fur.
Bring it the fuck on.
Lifting my head from Okeanos’s throat, I licked the blood from my lips. He tasted salty, like the ocean. Different, but good. A fitting appetizer for the rest of my coming feast.
I left him dazed on the rock ledge, his legs still submerged. His bodyneededthe water. Without a pool to at least swim in occasionally, he would wither and eventually die.
Luckily, the goddesses had foreseen his need and already blessed me with exactly what he—what I—needed.
Something rustled in the grass up above the grotto, though it wasn’t big enough to concern any of my Blood. A small, dark shape rose on the upper boulder, making sure I could see her. Penelope. She was back, and…
Another rat crouched beside her, slightly larger. No, two. Three.
:Mates,:she squeaked in my head.
Laughing softly, I shook my head. Maybe the nest would be overflowing with rats and crows by next year. Not that I would mind in the slightest.
I drifted into the middle of the pool and met Rik’s gaze. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
His eyes narrowed, his jaws working as if he was chewing boulders into gravel. He never liked it when I needed to go somewhere alone.
“As you wish, my queen. Though if you don’t return in five minutes, I’m coming in after you.”
“Promise?”
“You fucking know it.”
