He appeared to be drifting into a doze, so I carefully got up and went to the en suite.
I filled the sink with hot soapy water, gingerly removed the plug, and washed it thoroughly. I left it on the side of the tub, then found a flannel and washed. After splashing some cool water on my flushed cheeks, I returned to the bedroom.
He hadn’t moved, so I climbed next to him and curled up close.
Instantly, he scooped me into an embrace, his stubbled chin resting against my brow. “You sound so pretty when you come.”
“I’ve been told I’m pretty lots of times, but never that Isoundpretty.”
“I guess I see you differently to most people.” He kissed my brow. “And just so you know, sharing isn’t usually my thing.”
“It isn’t?”
“Nope.”
“So why now? And how are you coping, knowing what you know about me and Ben and Theo and Eduardo?”
He was quiet for a moment, then, “I guess I’m willing to compromise if it means I can still have you.”
“Just for sex?”
“What? No.” He tipped my chin, forced me to look up at him. “I mean sex with you is something else, especially now you know my…er…style and you seemed to enjoy it.”
“I did.” I studied his eyes. “A lot.”
“I see you,” he said, seriously. “I saw you that first day running away from a marriage that was doomed from the damn start. I saw your strength, your levelheaded cool, and I admired that. I had no idea you were famous, no idea you had such burdens from your past to bear, but I knew then, sitting at the back of the tour bus, that you were going to be someone special in my life.”
“You did?”
“Yeah, didn’t you?”
“If I’m honest…”
“Go on…”
“Then no. My heart was shattered, and I was trying to hold it together while I figured out what to do.” I paused. “Turned out a bunch of rough and tough hockey players were my knights in shining armor.”
Chapter Twenty-Three
Monday morning arrived. I’d had a lazy day with Dylan on Sunday watching movies and eating Chinese, then headed back for a night of recovery in my bedroom at the brothers’ house.
My body had ached, but in a good way, and I was still on a high from my first set of multiple orgasms, plus I kept thinking of the way Dylan had controlled his own climaxes and found pleasure over and over again. It had been unexpected and fascinating. A dizzying set of new experiences, and it made me feel, finally, like I’d taken the time to explore some of my inner kink.
“Good day to you,” Ben said, wandering into the kitchen and running his hand through his shower-damp hair. “Sleep well?”
“Yes, I was exhausted last night.”
“Dylan will do that to you.” He raised his eyebrows at me.
I stirred my tea, not ready to talk about my time with their teammate just yet.
“What will Dylan do to you?” Theo meandered into the kitchen slipping on a Viper t-shirt at the same time.
“Exhaust a woman.”
“Have you seen him exhaust many women?” I asked.
“No, not personally.” Ben shrugged. “He’s been celibate since that rink bunny incident…well until you invited him to your hotel room in Cardiff, that is.”
