Mason

T he confusion on Olivia’s face is clear until suddenly something snaps into place, and her eyes go wide. Her brows raise so high they are in her hairline, and she looks like one of those wax figures frozen with surprise on their face.

“What the fuck did you do?” Olivia screams.

“What I had to do for us, for our family. You were being stubborn, and I couldn’t risk you running away from what we have. Now you will never leave me.”

I realize how crazy I sound, but word vomit spews from my mouth. Realizing my mistake too late, I try to backtrack, but Olivia lifts the pregnancy test box and throws it at my head.

“You goddamn lunatic,” she yells, her face contorted with rage. Olivia’s nostrils flare as she breathes heavily, and her cheeks flush a furious red. She is so enraged that if smoke could escape her ears, it would pour out of them like a factory chimney.

“Tell me what you did, Mason Walker.”

Knowing I just need to come clean while she’s already pissed off, I unload on her. I need to get it all over with at once. Rip the Band-Aid off, so to speak.

“I know a doctor who needed a favor, so I added a sedative to your wine the night I made you dinner. Remember how tired you were, and I carried you to bed? That’s why you were so exhausted—because of the drugs.”

“Un- fucking -believable! You drugged me?”

“I did it with the doctor’s guidance, and he gave me the sedative to ensure it was safe.” Even though I meant well, it’s making the whole situation sound even worse, so I hold my breath and wait for her to blow the gasket I can clearly see coming.

“How fucking could you? So, this doctor friend of yours gave me a sedative, but how did you remove my birth control, asshole? Please tell me you didn’t do it yourself.

” Olivia looks as if she’s watching a horror movie; expressions I’ve never seen—a mix of fear and disgust—contort her beautiful face.

Shrugging my shoulders, I explain, “He needed a favor, and so did I, so once you were asleep, the doctor came over and did the procedure.”

“You asshole! That’s why I was cramping so badly the day after you made dinner. How fucking dare you?”

Stepping into her space, my voice comes out louder than I want it to and surprises her, forcing her to take a step away from me.

“I did what I needed to fucking ensure you were mine. Completely mine!”

“Do you hear how unhinged you sound? This isn’t normal,” Olivia whispers before breaking into sobs.

Reaching for her, I see Liv flinch. “Don’t fucking touch me. You will never touch me again, Mason.”

“I’ll be damned. You are mine, Olivia, and I take care of what’s mine. This is going to be a good thing. We’ll be a real family now.”

“No! We are done. I’m getting my shit and leaving, and you had better not follow me. Don’t fucking call me, and damn sure don’t come to my fucking house. I will never forgive you for this.”

She storms into the bedroom, grabs a duffel bag, and starts filling it with clothes and toiletries. Powerless to stop her, I follow her downstairs. Her cell phone, keys, and purse are sitting on the kitchen counter, and she grabs them as she slams the door shut behind her.

I knew she would be a little mad, but I can’t help feeling like I’ve lost her forever.

What if she never forgives me? Shaking the thought off because it’s not an option, I walk to the front door, leaning my forehead against the cool wall.

It takes all of my restraint not to follow her out and stop her from leaving.

After watching Olivia’s car pull out of the driveway, tires squealing, I go to the bathroom and pick the pregnancy test up off the floor where she threw it at me earlier. I wish she’d taken the test so we knew for sure, but I’m pretty sure it would have been positive.

I filled her pussy with my cum every chance I got, hoping we were making a baby. She might be right. This isn’t normal, and I must be a monster because I’m not sorry. The only thing I’m sorry about is that my woman isn’t here in my arms.

She will be, but she is angry right now, so I will give her a break to cool off.

Eventually Olivia will be back in our home, and we will take this test regardless of her little rebellion.

There’s no other option that I will accept, and I might be unhinged because now I’m thinking of ways to lock Liv up in our house so she can never leave me again.

Good thing she doesn’t know I have a cloning and tracing app on her phone. I can see that she messaged Savannah before going straight to my brother’s house. I let out a sigh of relief knowing she’s safe and decide to give her a break.

My phone rings an hour later, and I see it’s Declan. “Brother, what the fuck have you done?”

“What do you mean?” I ask innocently because I don’t know what Olivia has told him.

“Liv came barreling in sobbing. She looks wrecked. I told you not to hurt her, Mase.”

“Declan, I did what I had to do. Olivia always had one foot out of the door, so I made sure she couldn’t leave me. I know it looks bad but in the long run, it’s what’s best for us.”

“Mason, I have no idea what you’ve done but it sounds even worse than I thought. I’m in the garage and the girls are in the house. Spit it out and tell me everything.”

After admitting everything to Declan, I hear him let out a sad sigh. “Mase, you’ve really fucked up. I don’t know if this is something she can forgive.”

“Don’t judge me when you jacked off in Savannah’s fucking lotion and she still wears your cum every day and doesn’t know it. You are just as unhinged as I am.”

“Yes, I’ve done some things I’m not proud of, but I never paid someone to remove an IUD from her body. That’s taking things too far.”

“You knocked Van up on purpose, too, so you aren’t much different from me. I just had an extra hurdle to overcome and did what needed to be done. I refuse to apologize or feel ashamed for doing something that needed to be done.”

As I hang up the phone on my asshole brother, I get a notification that Liv’s phone is moving. She’s left Savannah’s house and is heading in the wrong direction. As I watch, I realize she’s not coming back home—she’s leaving Magnolia Falls.

What the hell does she think she’s doing? My skin slicks with sweat, and the frantic pounding of my heart echoes in my ears. Where is my woman going?

As I call her phone, and it goes to voicemail repeatedly, I feel like I’m crawling out of my skin.

Of all the options available to her, I never thought Olivia would leave Magnolia Falls.

What the fuck is she thinking? This woman thinks I was unhinged before?

Well, she doesn’t know what unhinged means if she thinks she can just leave me.
