Page 21 of Property of Scythe (Kings of Anarchy MC: Ohio #1)
“ Y ou look damn good, baby,” I tell Lottie as she struts across the bar toward me, proudly wearing her Property of Scythe cut. “Spin around for me.”
She winks before she slowly turns in a circle, lifting her hair so I can see every inch of the patch on her back. It doesn’t hurt that she’s only wearing a tight black tank top and leggings. I hungrily devour every curve of her body from her pert tits to her juicy ass. All fucking mine.
I whistle as a few of the club members chuckle.
“Pres is fucking whipped,” Phantom announces.
Lottie grins. “Damn right he is.”
Voodoo slides onto the stool beside me as I watch Lottie from the bar. “We’re all happy for you, Pres. Lottie is one of us.”
He senses it. They all do.
“I shared my vitality with her,” I confirm.
“I wasn’t sure if it would work.”
“Me either.” I can’t help but smile when I think about how well it did work. “It’s not going to be a problem when you take an ol’ lady. It won’t be for any of us.”
Voodoo hangs his head. “It’s not in the cards for me, Pres.”
“You don’t know for sure, Voodoo.”
He shakes his head. “I do.”
I try to change his mind, but he doesn’t want to hear it.
After offering his congrats to me and Lottie, he leaves the bar.
I’m not sure of all the reasons why Voodoo thinks he’s unworthy of finding love, but I know he struggles with it.
All I can do is offer my friendship and advice and be there for him when he needs a brother.
Lottie swings her hips as she walks my way, and I hook an arm around her waist, pulling her onto my lap as she laughs.
“You happy, baby?”
She’s taken all of this so well, like she was born to be my ol’ lady and part of the secret I protect. Maybe that’s why she had all those dreams of me before we met. I can’t help but think those Salem witches used divination to see the future.
But as I see her smile, I’m only grateful if they had a part in bringing her to me.
“Yes. Being here and wearing this vest feels right.”
That’s what I was hoping to hear her say. I correct her, though, because she needs to use the right words. “It’s a cut, darlin’.”
“Oh yeah. My cut.”
“Your Property cut and patch. It’s my ownership and trust. Your devotion and loyalty.”
“Both our love,” she adds.
Exactly. “You bet it is.”
Her sister is coming to visit soon and I hope she sees how content Lottie is. Maybe that’ll help convince their parents that I’m doing right by my woman and I love her.
Emma walks through the door, and Lottie jumps from my lap. “I’m going to say hi and invite her to have a drink.”
“It’s kind of you.” It means a lot to me that she’s making an effort with Emma. She’s family to Mila, and it shows a strength of character for Lottie to befriend her.
Lottie smiles. “She could use a friend.”
I give her ass a light slap and she giggles, walking from me to Emma. They find a table and sit down, soon playing cards and enjoying a few drinks. I kick back against the bar, enjoying the peace that followed the storm.
The Festival is staying busy, and I’ve got enough staff to give us a break tonight. I relax as I sip from my beer, not surprised when Mountain joins me.
“Hey, Pres.”
“Mountain. Everything good?”
“Sure.”
He’s been quiet since he got back from California. “How did it go with Cami?”
We’ve not had time to discuss it until now.
“She’s good.” There’s a tightness in his voice that lets me know that’s not entirely true.
“You don’t have to tell me your business, brother, but I know when something is bullshit.”
He laughs without humor. “Yeah. I know, Pres.”
“Is she coming back to Ohio?”
“Fuck no,” he spits. “She’s too caught up in being a celebrity. Cami forgets I know her.”
And he likes her. Maybe even loves her.
“That’s rough. Give her time,” I suggest.
He opens his mouth to speak when his phone begins ringing. Mine goes off at the same time with an alarming text.
“Fuck,” I curse, shooting to my feet.
Mountain’s expression is stricken before he growls the news, already heading for the door. “Someone just set the Butter Bliss on fire, and Granny Jo is inside.”
“I’m going with you.”
I shout orders for the club to get their asses moving. We need help.
Whoever did this is gonna pay.
