Page 44 of Prodigy & Tybalt
“My turn,” Prodigy said when I was breathless and heated. A sharp pulse went through my clit when Tyb turned my face towards Prodigy, offering me up to his slow, possessive kiss that completely and utterly melted me. At least until the whoops and cheering began.
I groaned, my cheeks burning as I remembered the very public setting we were in, and that a whole garden’s worth of people had watched me make out with my alphas. It was abiggarden. There were alotof people in it.
“Hey, assholes,” a deep, male voice cut through the wolf whistles. “This barbecue is supposed to be about us.”
“Told you I’m a bigger superstar than you,” Tyb called to Warning as the crowd parted in a semicircle around the vice president, and he lifted a small, dark-haired woman onto a wooden picnic table so she towered over everyone. I didn’t know a lot about Everly, but she tried to help me that one time and she seemed nice. Now she was beaming from ear to ear, practically bouncing atop the table. “I can’t help my natural allure.”
“I’ll shove that natural allure down your throat if you don’t shut up,” Warning growled, making Tybalt laugh.
“Stop causing trouble,” I chided, pulling him to my side.
“But trouble’s my middle name, warrior,” he replied, draping an arm across my shoulders, Prodigy’s banded across my lower back. I felt good. Better than good. Happy.
“We wanted all you fuckers in one place because we’ve got—” Warning began, arms crossed over his chest, leather straining against muscles that were clearly more functional than decorative. I bet those arms had crushed a few skulls in his time.
“We’re having a baby!”Everly blurted before he could finish, her words a bright cry that stunned every Knight in residence into a moment of utter silence.
Then the cheers resumed louder and throatier than before, practically deafening. Someone squealed. Warning lifted Everly down just in time for her to be mobbed by her friends. I watched them with a smile, thinking of my own future.
“Do you want children?” I asked Prodigy, glancing at Tyb so he knew the question was for both of them.
“Are you asking us to breed you, warrior?” Tyb asked in a deep, deep voice. “Because don’t fucking tempt me.”
“The whole time you were in heat, I was obsessed with the thought of it,” Prodigy groaned, the look on his face almost painful. “I still am. We were careful most of the time but—”
“Not all the time,” Tyb said with a snort, hauling me into his arms and holding me in a tight, claiming hold. “Who’s to say this pretty womb isn’t growing us a baby right now?”
“Tyb,” Prodigy growled in rough warning. “Fuck, this is an inappropriate time to be turned on.”
“So mouthy, isn’t he?” I smirked from Prodigy to Tyb. “Do you think we should punish him for it?”
Tybalt’s breathing turned choppy, his eyelids low and lazy. “Do it now in front of everyone, I couldn’t give a fuck.”
“Seems a little rude, given this is a pregnancy announcement party.”
“Barbecue,” he disagreed.
I used a secret weapon I’d watched reduce Tybalt to quivers, and fluttered my lashes up at him, spreading my hands over his chest. “You can wait until later, can’t you? Because you’re such a good boy for us.”
His nostrils flared, his hips jerking involuntarily. “Warrior,” he said through gritted teeth.
“Yes, alpha?”
Prodigy laughed when Tybalt dropped his head, grabbing my hips like a lifeline, and the two of us shared a secret smile. I loved this, loved our relationship, lovedthem. And I knew whatever the future had in store, I would love that too.
I’d spent so long waiting for a better day to come, and now it was here.
