Lucas ran lazy fingers over my jean clad thigh. Even through the material, I could feel that electrical pulse he emitted. The sensation sent my body into a frenzy, but I was trying to remain calm even though my heart was in my throat.

We had seen all the sights there were to see, and Lucas was driving us back to the villa.

“Do you…” I cleared my throat. “Do you think Charles will keep trying to get to the chest?”

Lucas dragged his hand up my thigh, sliding it between the small gap. I gasped and tried not to writhe beneath his touch. “It seems like that was before I issued his payment. But it doesn’t mean he won’t try to fuck with us.” His blue gaze met mine, and arousal surged through me.

I clamped my legs together. “Would it have been better if we went today anyway? Just to be safe.” My voice cracked.

He didn’t answer me. Instead, Lucas shoved my legs apart, and my eyes widened as I glanced at him. His stare was fixed ahead, but the wicked grin on his face told me he knew exactly what he was doing to me. “Unbutton your jeans, little thief.”

“But anyone could see.”

“I won’t let them see. ”

“But—” Lucas silenced me as he rubbed me through my pants.

A soft moan escaped me. I wanted him. Really, really wanted him.

My hips rocked of their own volition as I focused on my husband’s profile.

Every movement of his fingers through the fabric was enough to get me to the cliff I so badly wanted to jump from.

He pulled away, eyes blazing with need. “Unbutton them before I do, and I might just tear them off of you completely.”

With shaking hands, I reached for the button, sliding it out of its loop.

Lucas pulled the zipper down before sliding his fingertips to the top of my panties.

My belly retracted at the touch, the roughness of his fingers grazing the softness of my skin sending a whisper of intoxication tumbling down my limbs.

Lifting the cotton, he slipped this hand farther down. “Lift a little, baby,” Lucas ordered. I did as he requested, allowing him better access to my core.

The trembling of my body intensified as he circled my clit softly, bringing my arousal to the bud of sensitivity.

“Such a beautiful little thief. Perfect for me.” He sucked his bottom lip into his mouth.

“Oh god,” I said, breathlessly.

“That’s not my name, wife. When you come, you’ll say my name.” Lucas pressed more firmly, and the edge of bliss shot toward me.

“Lucas!” I hurdled over the cliff, everything a blur as I fell. And fell. In my daze of euphoria, Lucas watched me with hooded eyes. He drank every bit of my pleasure as if it were his own.

His movements slowed as I started to come down from the high of climax. My breathing was still erratic, and my heart leapt at a maddening rhythm. Even when he pulled his hand from my jeans, with his blue eyes locked onto my face, I couldn’t help but shake the magnitude of my orgasm.

Lucas pulled to the side of the road and kissed me. Small, soft kisses as he gripped my face between his hands. “You’re so gorgeous when you come for me.”

I wanted more. More of this man who had so many secrets. More of his smiles and true laughs. More of seeing the way his eyes lit up instead of seeming so damn sad or angry. More of just… him.

Every day that passed was a day closer to the end of our arrangement. I couldn’t help but feel like maybe there was more to this than just an agreement.

He definitely didn’t make me feel like this was nothing. He’d said before that he had feelings for me. Did it mean that he would still want me after the deal was completed?

There was a deep desire within me to ask him if he wanted to continue seeing each other after.

But as I adjusted myself in my seat, I bit my bottom lip to keep from speaking the question.

Not only was now not the time, but I wasn’t sure I could handle the humiliation of him denying anything between us.

That I was the only one who felt the fire burning so brightly inside my chest that I could hardly breathe.

He could douse the flames with his rejection.

Instead of letting the words fall from my lips, I stared out the window. Lucas sat back in his seat and pulled back onto the road. His hand went back to lazily caressing my leg, and silence fell between us.
