Epilogue

Just three months later, Zane and I were married in the same place where we'd first met – back when I'd been a lowly catering assistant and he'd been, well, Zane Bennington, the biggest prick on the planet, who also happened to have the biggest heart in the universe, at least when it came to me.

The day after his impromptu proposal, we were back in New York City, where he picked out the biggest diamond I'd ever seen and proposed all over again at midnight in Times Square.

We spent half a week there, taking in the sights all over again, this time with two furry companions and a whole bunch of doggie bags. We spent the remainder of that week back in Indianapolis, entertaining my parents and Charlotte, who grew to love Zane nearly as much as I did.

Soon, I learned a whole lot more about those awful meetings – the ones I'd attended during my short stint as Zane's employee.

Turns out, those original contracts had been drawn up by who else, but Bob, who'd written the fine print so craftily that the hotels ended up paying inflated prices while Bob netted some sweet kickbacks on the side.

But those days are long-gone. Today, Bob and Kayla are on the talk-show circuit, where they tell anyone who will listen how Zane screwed them out of what they truly deserved.

No one's buying it, not even Teddy, who's found love all over again, this time with a girl who loves him back with a ferocity that's just a little bit scary.

Teddy's officially our neighbor now, living in the same house that Zane's grandfather had wanted him to have all along. We're no longer worried about Teddy keeping the place, because his new fiancée is ten times more aggressive than Kayla on her worst day.

The fiancée's name? Paisley.

Yup, my former roommate.

In the end, she gave up the lumberjack life for good, in favor of something ten times better – her own personal knight in shining armor who loves her just the way she is.

Heaven help him.

As far as our wedding, it was attended by everyone I loved and at least one person I didn't. That person was Tiffany, who showed up on the arm of the lieutenant governor, a guy with even larger political aspirations than Senator Grabby-Ass, who's currently cooling his heels in a sex addict clinic for repeat offenders.

The footage of Zane dragging the senator never did show up on the news, and it wasn't until a few weeks afterward that I finally learned why. The guys had, in fact, sold the footage for a pretty penny. But the buyer was a certain somebody who preferred to keep that particular incident just between us – along with yes, a dozen other witnesses who saw the spectacle in person.

As for me, I'm the newest member of the Mile High Club – and not only because I've had sex at fifty-thousand feet. No,I'ma mile high because with Zane, every day is a walk in the clouds, and I wouldn’t change a single thing.
