The only shifter who isn’t staring—slack jawed—at the three of us is their grandmother. She grins like a loon at her two grandsons while the others recover themselves.
“Yes,” their father finally forces out. “I think it is.”
“We go to war,” their mother announces. “The Eagle will be made to pay for what she did to my sons and their new pack.”
Hope sparks bright inside of me at her words. Maybe, with six leviathans and a hydra on our side, we have a chance. Maybe… just maybe, we can win.
A small rough tongue laps at my ankle, distracting me, and I look down to find Opal licking me. My familiar catches me staring and gives me a look.
“You taste like fish,”she mutters.
That’s all the incentive I need to excuse myself from the family reunion and head straight for the shower.
ChapterThirty-Eight
NILSA
It’s obvious that they’re following me from the second I open the door to our bedroom. I pretend I don’t know they’re there as I start stripping my clothing off on my way to the bathroom, leaving pieces of it in my wake like breadcrumbs.
The hot water of the shower sluices away the slobber and sea water until I can finally relax, enjoying the bliss of being clean. I tip my face into the spray, deliberately ignoring the male bodies taking up the rest of the room. Three shadows tease me from the corner of my eye and their movements are jerky as they yank off their own clothes… Well, Rysen does. The twins are already naked. I run both hands down my body, teasing them. The cuts are deep, and still open, so the move spreads my own blood across my breasts, making my vampire hiss.
Cas breaks first.
“Sharing is caring,” he teases, stepping under the spray behind me.
He takes one of my hands and holds it out towards Rysen in offering.
Vampire saliva seals the wound in seconds, then the other. All that remains when I look at my palms a second time is a fine white scar. Barely distinguishable from the other lines of my palm.
“It’s not quite as badass as the shifters’…” I complain.
Nos silences me with a kiss, positioning his body at my front as his own hands come up to stroke down my shoulders. “You’re not a shifter. Your skin is far too precious for that kind of mark.”
“Besides, we prefer your sexy tattoos,” Cas adds, pressing a soft line of kisses along my neck.
“Agreed,” Ry grunts, his hand threading into my hair and pulling my head forward so he can claim my mouth next.
The shower is barely big enough for me and the twins, so my vampire is forced to wait on the fringes as Cas grabs the soap and starts lathering me up from head to toe. Nos doesn’t help—not really. The blind twin’s hands move to my breasts, cupping them under the guise of washing. I moan, arching into him. Begging with my body for a firmer touch. For more. For anything.
Behind me, Cas crouches, soaping his way up my legs in a practical manner that’s completely at odds with his brother’s actions. Every graze of his hands against the sensitive skin behind my knee threatens to make my legs buckle, and when he reaches my inner thigh, they do.
I don’t have a chance to fall. Ry is there, taking my arm and steadying me before I even know I’m in trouble.
I wait with bated breath for Cas to reach the apex of my thighs. For him to touch me there.
He doesn’t. Those determined hands go to my ass instead. For a second, the impersonal touch vanishes, and he massages the globes in a perfect echo of what Nos is doing to my breasts. Then it’s over and Cas starts on my other leg.
I moan in frustration. “I’m clean.”
“Someone’s getting impatient.” I can hear the grin in Cas’s voice. “You’re done when I say you’re done, princess.”
My groan is met by three very masculine chuckles and a caress of ice against my back.
Kier.
My eyes search the room but find no sign of him. He must be using his glamour to watch without the others knowing he’s there. That won’t do at all.
If we’re having an orgy, all of my mates are invited and I won’t have any of them feeling left out on the sidelines.
