“You wouldn’t turn me?”

Gwil liked the direction this was taking, he’d never thought Hyax might be open to some of the vampire ways, he was already ecstatic that the sparkly git had proposed properly. “Oh no. It’s just something for the wedding night, as an extra to exchanging vows.”

“Okay, I’m game if you’re willing to do a fae tradition in trade.”

He knew he should be a bit cautious when agreeing to let a fae do whatever they wanted, but he trusted Hyax. “Sure. What do you have in mind?”

Hyax stroked his neck. “Humans have wedding rings, we have collars. I had thought it might not be something you’d bewilling to wear as they could be seen as a sign of ownership, and traditionally silver. But we can change the metal.”

“I’d have no problem with a non-silver collar.”

Hyax caressed his collarbone, and Gwil shivered in delight. “A lovely platinum collar would suit you wonderfully.”

They shared another lazy kiss. Gwil couldn’t remember the last time he’d been this happy. Maybe during the false euphoria of when he was sired, but that seemed insignificant in comparison. He’d locked away the hope of having someone to love and be with, and even once he’d met Hyax, he’d been resigned to never being more than friends but now they were together and had to force himself to believe it. They still had things to sort out, and Hyax’s parents’ acceptance was far from won, so it would be some time before he could call Hyax his husband but he had time, he could wait.

Death had never been better.
