But now that they were older, and sex no longer felt like a new and wild discovery, they never spoke about the nitty-gritty, so Camden asking about his lube predilections was blowing Theo’s mind.

“You bought me lube?” Theo whispered.

“Yeah.” Camden’s cheeks were very pink from the brisk cold, and Theo would have thought he looked adorable if he’d been able to think about anything but personal lubricant.

“Well, umm.” Theo decided to be gracious and ignore how very weird this was. “Thank you, Cam. How much do I owe you?”

A beat of silence followed his words, and Camden frowned. “Nothing. I told you. It’s a gift.”

“This is an expensive gift. Are you sure?” Camden didn’t make a ton of money. That wasn’t a secret, and Theo hated the idea of putting him out.

“Yes. Very sure.”

This was one of the nicest, most generous presents anyone had ever given Theo. Though he was wholly unprepared to take the cellophane off the basket.

Conflicting emotions bubbled up inside him, and he had no idea where to direct them, so he pointed his body at Camden and launched himself into a hug. Camden caught him with anoomphand held him hesitantly. It was gentle, this hug, which fucked with Theo’s emotions even more.

“Thanks,” he said, his mouth buried in Camden’s shoulder. “I’m very nervous about all this, but thank you. You’re the best matchmaker ever. Really going above and beyond.”

Camden lightly touched the back of Theo’s head, sending an odd ache down Theo’s spine. He jerked out of the hug before he made it weird.

“You’re welcome,” Camden said. “And don’t be nervous. I’m just a phone call away if you need me.”
