Page 146 of Pack Me Up
Colton’s eyes snap to me, surprised, but he goes with it.
Brittney’s whole body shivers at the threat. She opens her mouth, lets Fox feed her a tiny bite of protein bar, then chews slowly and sullenly.
“Good omega,” I purr, nipping at her shoulder. “Such a fucking good girl.”
She takes the next bite, then the next, every one earned with a kiss from Colton or a filthy whisper from me. Saint wipes her down, careful not to touch where we’re joined. Fox offers a bite, then a sip, cycling through until her breathing evens and some color returns to her skin.
“Almost done,” Colton murmurs. “Then we can fuck you stupid again, just how you like it.”
She blinks, dazed but proud.
I stroke her spine, slow and deliberate, while Colton peppers her face with kisses. It’s like calming a bomb with your bare hands. The whole nest smells of sweat, cum, and need, but the pulse of danger is gone. Now it’s just warmth and exhaustion with packmates doting on their queen.
Cody sidles closer, mouth quirking. “You look like a happy little sandwich, wild girl.”
She sticks her tongue out at him, then turns back to Colton, nuzzling into his throat.
Saint snorts, and even Fox cracks a smile.
We keep feeding her, keep holding her, until the shaking stops and her eyes start to close. Colton and I are still locked in, but the fever in her skin is gone, replaced with a lazy, golden heat that radiates out from her center.
“Hey,” I whisper, mouth at her ear. “You did so well, hazel. You make us proud.”
She sighs, content, and lets her body relax all the way, limp and safe and spent.
Colton rests his chin on her head, purrs so low it’s almost silent. “Love you, trouble.”
She doesn’t answer, but she doesn’t need to. The nest is calm now.
We’ll be here when the next wave comes. And every time after.
We lie tangled, with Colton spooning Brittney from the front, and I am locked behind, her body trapped and sweating between us. No one talks for a while. There’s just the sound of breathing: her soft, sated sighs, Colton’s slow huffs, the low thunder of my own lungs as the adrenaline drains away.
When the pressure finally ebbs, I ease out slowly, careful not to hurt her. She makes a sad little sound at the loss, but Colton’s already there, scooping her up, guiding her down onto the pile of blankets. Fox appears with a warm, damp cloth and starts gently wiping the cum and sweat from her thighs and stomach. It’s domestic and obscene all at once. The contrast makes me want to laugh, but I don’t.
Saint hovers at the edge of the nest, running a hand over Brittney’s foot. He’s still shirtless, but his eyes are soft now, the alpha edge having melted into something like pride. Cody sprawls on the pillows nearby, arms behind his head, grinning up at the ceiling like he’s just won the lottery.
Brittney’s eyelids droop, lashes dark and heavy. Her skin is flushed from hairline to ankle, blotched with bite marks and fingerprints. She looks utterly fucked-out, and for the first time, totally at peace.
I pull a fresh blanket around her shoulders, tucking her in like a burrito. Colton kisses her cheek, then her nose, then the corner of her mouth. “Sleep,” he whispers. “We’ll be here when you wake up.”
She nods, too tired to talk, and burrows into my chest. I feel the warmth of her breath against my heart, the soft, steady tick of her pulse slowing under my hand.
Fox lingers for a moment, smoothing her hair with his palm. “You did well, songbird,” he says, voice low. “We’re all proud of you.”
She manages a smile, then closes her eyes for real. Within minutes, she’s out, body slack and trusting.
I lay there, wrapped around Brittney, and let the world shrink to the four walls of the room, the tangle of limbs, and the scent: not just hers now, but all of us. The air is thick with alpha and beta—pepper, mocha, frost, apple pie—all braided through her wild, chocolate omega. It smells like love, family, and home.
I watch the other pack members as they settle in, keeping one eye on me, Colton, and Brittney, like they’re daring the universe to try and take this away.
Brittney shifts in her sleep, snuggling closer. I hold her, purring softly and deeply, and Colton does the same from the other side.
