Page 78 of Obsession (Temptation 4)
With a chilling grin, he slowly shook his head, using a finger to summon me. “Keep coming, Julia. I’ll tell you when you can stop.”
I took several more steps until there was barely enough space between us for me to undress without bumping into him.
“This is sufficient. Now, you may undress for your husband.”
Goosebumps prickled my skin, the way he looked at me with animalistic need making me feel like I was going to throw up. But I had to do this.
For Imogene.
I risked a glance out the window to see if her bike was still there, praying she was on the brink of getting out of here.
I needed her to get the hell out of here.
When I spied her slender body peddling down the street as quickly as she possibly could, I exhaled, a grateful smile tugging on my lips.
“What are you—”
Whirling around, my back facing Nick, I pulled my hair over my shoulder. “Can you unclasp me?” I asked, voice slightly higher than normal, evidencing my nerves.
My heart thrashed in my chest, adrenaline pumping through my veins. I prayed he didn’t catch on. That he’d be so distracted by the fact I was willing to let him touch me that he wouldn’t look outside and notice Imogene racing away.
My anxious breaths echoed in the room, the only other sound that of the clock on the wall.
After several tense moments, his hands covered my back, slowly sliding up my spine. He unfastened the clasp, then pushed the straps down my arms, tossing it onto the floor.
“Let me see you, Julia.”
Summoning my resolve, I faced him once more, his appreciation evident as his gaze raked over my body.
“Now the panties.” He tapped the knife against my hip. “Unless you’d like me to do the honors.”
“I’ll do it.”
“Then do it.”
I kept my stare trained on his, trying to ignore the devious glimmer in his eyes. All I could do was pray with everything I had that Imogene would get as far away as quickly as possible.
I feared she was the only chance I now had of making it out of here alive.
