I grin, but my stomach twists. “For Christmas, I think, but I had no idea Leo’s hosting the whole family.” Just the idea of all of them there… it’s going to be fucking chaos.
Rhett raises an eyebrow. “Why do you look like you’re going to be sick?”
I sigh, running a hand through my hair. “Because Leo and I take after my dad and two of my uncles are even larger than we are. It’s… a lot of testosterone. I don’t think we’ve had a family dinner like that since I was a kid.” Not to mention thatmy aunt’s family is even larger than ours. I have several nieces and nephews scattered around the states and most of them take after their Zeta father, which just makes the dynamic even more interesting.
Rhett laughs and claps my shoulder. “Well, good luck. I expect stories. All of them.”
“Yeah, yeah,” I push out as he leaves. I wave to Lila, her cheeks almost crimson. That’s not a dynamic I would have imagined but it’ll work out just fine for him. Now, I have to go home and tell my Alphas that we’ve got a whole party to attend this winter. The idea might have terrified me a few weeks ago but it almost feels like I finally get to show my family that I’m happy.
That I’ve found my happily ever after.
That it never mattered what I looked like or who I was.
That finding someone orsomeoneswho could love me for me was the only lesson I truly needed to learn.
No strings attached.
