Moving aside her wild curls,Cade kissed the back of her neck, sending shivers of awareness somehow throughher exhausted body. "I'm finally where I belong. And you—goddammitRitz—baby—you could've taken that all away from us. You could've been fuckingkilled!" he hissed behind her.
"But I wasn't," she moaned tiredly inher defense. "I knew what I was do-"
His heavy arm that rested over her snaked upuntil his hand found her throat again and lightly grabbed it. The action shotstraight to her swollen and abused clit, waking it up with a sexual zing. Turning over in his arms she inwardly sighed atthe grasp of his big hands settling on her naked waist, loving the way hishands held her as if he was afraid to let her go. Cupping his face in herhands, she stared deeply into his eyes and felt the years of love bursting likefireworks in her heart. "I promise," she said before sealing it witha kiss.
Letting out a groan, Cade's arms wrapped aroundher and pulled her painfully close. Kissing her back with fervent urgency, heheld her close.
Breathing heavily, they finally pulled back andlooked at one another. She watched as something mischievous glinted in hiseyes.
"Now that I have your word you won't doanything crazy again. We need to get back to the rest of your punishment forscaring the goddamn life out of me," he announced cheerfully.
"The rest of it! You can't be serious?"
Turning them both until she was pressed againstthe mattress and Cade was bracing himself above her, he looked down at her andgave her a feral smile. "When it comes to you, it will never be enough.Just as we have never beenjustfriends." His gaze warmed over herlike dark liquid honey. Maritzia held back the urge to shiver under his gaze.Somehow, he looked at her as if she was the sexiest woman alive. Loweringhimself to brush his lips across hers, she felt his smile against her lips."When it comes to you, my love, you are my life."
