Page 27 of Nesting With My Three Alphas (Hollow Haven #1)

Kit's gaze moved between the three of us, and I could see her processing the reality of what we were offering. Not just our physical presence during her heat, but our complete attention, our care, our commitment to her pleasure and comfort above all else.

"I want your scents," she said finally, her voice growing stronger with certainty. "I want to be surrounded by all of you."

"You can have whatever you want," Reed said immediately. "Shirts, blankets, anything that carries our scent."

Jonah was already moving toward the dresser, pulling out a soft flannel shirt that I knew was one of his favorites. "This one's been washed in the same detergent for years. It holds scent really well."

I added a sweater I'd been wearing regularly, one that carried not just my scent but the comforting notes of vanilla and baking that seemed to calm Kit's nerves.

Reed contributed a well-worn henley that smelled like leather and motor oil and the kind of honest work that always made Kit feel anchored.

"How does this feel?" I asked as Kit arranged our clothing around the space that would become the center of her nest.

She buried her face in Jonah's flannel, breathing deeply. "Like safety," she said, her voice muffled by the fabric. "Like home."

Like home. The words sent a wave of possessive satisfaction through all three of us.

"What else do you need?" Reed asked. "More pillows? Different blankets? Food, water, entertainment?"

"I think..." Kit paused, considering. "I think I need to know that you're all really sure about this. About me, about us, about what we're doing."

The vulnerability in her question made my chest tight. Even now, even after everything we'd shared, she was still fighting the voice in her head that said she wasn't worth this kind of love.

"Kit," Jonah said, his voice carrying the kind of quiet authority that made both Reed and me pay attention, "look at me."

She turned to face him, her eyes wide and uncertain.

"I have never been more sure of anything in my life," he said simply. "You are exactly who we've been waiting for. You're Charlie's mother, you're our omega, you're the missing piece that makes us whole."

"I've been alone for four years," I added. "I thought I'd never feel this way about anyone again. But you walked into my bakery and changed everything."

"And I've been waiting my whole life for someone who could handle all of me," Reed said with characteristic directness. "The protectiveness, the intensity, the need to fix everything. You don't just handle it. You make it feel like a gift instead of a burden."

Kit's scent shifted, warming with something that was pure contentment. "I want this heat to be the beginning of forever."

"Then let's make sure your nest is perfect," I said, gesturing to the space she'd been creating. "Because you're about to have the best heat of your life."

As Kit continued arranging blankets and pillows with the focused attention of an omega preparing for something sacred, I caught the subtle communication passing between Jonah and Reed. We were all thinking the same thing. This was the beginning.

Tomorrow, Kit would be in heat. Tomorrow, we'd claim her properly, completely, permanently. When Charlie came home it would be to a family that was officially, legally, biologically complete.

But today, we had these precious hours of anticipation, of preparation, of building something beautiful together.

And I intended to savor every moment of it.

The afternoon sun was slanting through the bedroom windows when Kit finally declared her nest complete.

She'd arranged our scented clothing into a careful pattern, created zones for sleeping and comfort and intimate connection, and somehow managed to make the whole space feel like a sanctuary designed specifically for the four of us.

Her hand drifted to her neck, rubbing absently at skin that had started to tingle with restless heat.

"It's perfect," she said, settling into the center of her creation with a sigh of deep satisfaction. "I feel like I could stay here forever."

"That's the point," Reed said, his voice rougher than usual as he took in the sight of our omega nestled in the scents of her chosen alphas.

"How long do we have?" Kit asked, though from the way her scent was intensifying, I suspected she already knew the answer.

"Not long," I said gently. "A few hours at most. Your heat's going to start tonight."

Instead of fear, Kit's expression held anticipation. "Good," she said firmly. "I'm ready."

She was ready. After months of healing, weeks of falling in love, and days of preparation, Kit was finally ready to claim her place in our pack.

And we were ready to show her exactly what it meant to be loved by three alphas who would spend the rest of our lives proving she'd made the right choice.

The sun was setting over Hollow Haven, painting the sky in shades of gold and rose that seemed to mirror the warmth building in our home. Kit's first heat with her chosen pack was only hours away.

And we were going to make it the most perfect experience she'd ever had.
