Ben sniffed. “I love you.”

“All right. Enough of the lovey-dovey,” Preston said, pulling Ben away from him for a hug himself and doing the same for Gareth. “Congrats.”

“Thanks.”

“I’m going to grab a beer before my best man’s speech.”

Gareth groaned. “Why did I ever think having you as a best man was a good idea?”

“Because you love me, man.”

“Shove off,Prez. Gimme a hug,” Victor said, throwing his arms around Gareth. “I’m so happy for you.”

Gareth grabbed Victor’s chin. “Yours will be here soon,” he whispered.

Victor smiled, dislodging a tear, which he discreetly wiped away. “I already have my speech prepared. We’re all good.”

Gareth sighed and faced Ben. “I think we’re going to regret that tag team.”

Ben chuckled. “Maybe, but if they drink enough, we can blame it on the alcohol.”

As they greeted each of their guests as they entered the reception, Gareth realised he didn’t care what his best friends said. Anyone could say anything, and it wouldn’t change a thing.

He’d still have his husband by his side.

He’d still have his boy.

He’d still have Ben.
