Hunter watched as the last of their visitors stepped through the portal.

Caiden hadn’t left Genevieve’s side for a moment.

In fact, he watched his unit leader follow her to the bathroom and wait in the hall.

He grinned. It had been worth the cuff upside the head by Kyran to see Genevieve’s reaction to seeing her mate on the other side of the bathroom door.

Hunter wasn’t stupid. That woman could cook. He’d genuflect everyday if she asked him to. He already arranged for twenty pounds of bacon to be delivered. He was hoping she’d be able to do a honey glaze. Eating that treat would be worth the teasing he’d get for acting like his animal.

He walked up to his room and closed the door behind him.

Caiden found his mate on YouTube of all things.

He rubbed his chest. He knew who his mate was.

When the dreams started, he recognized her right away.

Kiera Sorrel, a witch from the Lower City.

She left five years ago to make money to send back to her siblings.

He growled in frustration. She had been here the whole time, but never close enough for his bear to smell her. If he hadn’t started dreaming of her, gods only knew how long it would have taken to discover she was his.

After he recognized her as his mate he began checking in on the kids. At the very least they looked fed, but they didn’t look happy. He was praying that since Caiden found Genevieve, Kiera would be coming home soon.

He couldn’t wait to have a family of his own.
