Page 7 of My Demon Mate
CHAPTER 7
RAVEN
As much as I would like for Everest and me to spend all day inside where I can learn more about his years before I was able to communicate with him, I need to get him clothes and shoes.
Even on this plane, I am wealthy, so spending money on Everest is of no consequence. I was able to pay for this house in cash, the previous owner handing over the keys quickly when I showed her the bag full of bills.
After Everest is out of the shower, I take one of my own and get dressed quickly.
When I walk downstairs, I see him sitting on the couch, his fingers moving a mile a minute as he texts. “I have a friend,” he says with a small smile, not glancing up from the screen. “Her name is Danae, and she’s asking to hang out.” He looks up at me with a twinkle in his eyes. “I told her I was with my boyfriend. Is that okay?”
“It is.” Even though it is not the word I would use for us, it fits well for a human. It makes my hearts happy that he wants to claim me, even though it has only been twenty-four hours. I am glad he is not angry or put out about being promised to me.
He wraps up whatever he is texting and tossing his phone on the table. “Is this your place? I didn’t ask you yesterday. How did you get it? Were you here the whole time?”
I shake my head, sitting beside him and grabbing his hands. “Yes, this is my place but I purchased it yesterday, furniture and all. That is why I was so late picking you up. I had to make sure I had somewhere safe to bring you. I was not here the whole time. When you summoned me, I was able to transverse to this plane immediately. I did not want to take you to a hotel then move you elsewhere. I do apologize for waiting so long to retrieve you.”
He grins, putting his head on my bicep. He really is a tiny thing. “It was only a few hours. Besides, you came. That’s what matters.”
“Come,” I say, kissing the back of one of his hands. “We need to get you clothes and whatever essentials you need to stay with me. We are not going back to your house at all. Unless it is to kill your father.”
Everest face pales, but all he does is nod and draw in his lips. “He deserves it, just like you said, but I know I can’t do it on my own. I think if I could, I would have by now. I hate to say it, but I’m still afraid.” He looks at me with those deep brown eyes that give me a glimpse of his beautiful soul. “You said you would help me if I summoned you. Will you? I’m tired of people walking over me and abusing me, but I don’t think I can do it myself. Will you make it right?”
“You are not weak, Everest. He is a monster that wanted to beat you down to dust.” A menacing smile stretches my face. “But I am a bigger monster. Whatever you want me to do, sweet baby, I will do. That includes killing the man that abused you for all those years. Killing them all if you say the word.”
“I was hurt so bad. By everyone. It got worse when my mom left.” Almost in a trance, Everest says, “It’s funny. I used to feel like my mother was as bad off as I was. My dad would beat her up every time he got drunk, no matter how much she did right. I would pray that she got the courage to get us out of there. I know it’s hard for single mothers, so I gave her some grace. But then she vanished one day. All her stuff was gone, like she never existed. She left me behind with that monster. I was left alone.” Everest pulls his hands from mine and wraps them around his middle. “I wanted to blame her for years, and I did wish she were dead for years, but I got over it. She had to save herself, right?”
“No, Everest. She should have taken you too,” I say honestly. I told him I would never lie to him. As his mother, she should have done something to ensure his safety.
Everest nods numbly. “I know. But I have no animosity towards her. She was a battered woman. She did what she thought was right, I guess.” He slashes his hand through the air, as if tired of that conversation, so I clamp my mouth shut. “I remember the first time he struck me across the face, not just hit me with a belt or threw things at me. I was twelve. I’d just gotten home from school and he was already drunk. I stepped in the door and he started ranting about the house being a mess and dinner not being on the stove. I was in the house for all of ten seconds. So I told him I’d put it on after I put my things away. I walked to my room, intent on setting my bag down and doing what he told me. Even then, I tried to stay out of his way and do what he told me to do. Before I could make it back to the kitchen, he dragged me out of my room and tossed me into the wall in the living room. He punched me in the face, and, when I cried, he threw me to the ground and berated me for over ten minutes about being soft for crying over a light slap. When he was done, he spat on me, saying he wished I was gone just like my bitch mother.”
My anger is enough that I partially shift back to my real form, my fingers elongating and my claws making an appearance as they inch from my nail beds. For a demon, I am more mild- mannered than most, but listening to Everest highlight his abuse makes me want to teleport to his old home and eviscerate his father, rip him limb from limb and toss them out like the trash he is.
He continues speaking as if he does not notice my shift. “It was the first time I wished him dead. Before that, the punishments weren’t bad. It was pain I could tolerate. That day, he showed me what he was capable of. And it continued. It continued until I felt like I could do nothing about it. I’m a twenty-five year-old man, and I couldn’t get from under my father’s thumb.”
Everest looks up at me with those innocent and hurt eyes, eyes that bring me to my knees and stop my shift. “Until you. Until you said you could help me and kill the man that abused me the most. I hate him with a passion I didn’t know existed. I don’t think he ever loved me. I think his hatred for me was from the moment of my birth.” He bites his lip, a tear streaking down his face. “I told you that so you’d know what I went through. My life has been shit since my first memories. I don’t want to live like that anymore. I keep thinking, what if killing him gives me more bad memories? But what could be worse than how he treated me for most of my life?”
Pulling him onto my lap, I tip his chin up and wipe his tears. “If you want them dead, simply say the word.”
“Maybe I’m not strong enough to give the command. I don’t know how to ask for something like that,” he whispers.
“It is okay if you are not. I will be here for you when you are ready. I am not going anywhere.”
“Thank you,” he breathes, then plants his lips on mine. His kiss is desperate and hard, his hands roaming over my body like he does not know where he wants to touch me. I hold him close, letting him touch and kiss me how he wants. He needs this. He needs to know I am here for him and I will take care of him, just as I said.
The only thing that pulls our lips apart is the growling of our stomachs. Everest moves back, a shy grin on his face. “I’m a little hungry. We didn’t eat last night.”
“Let me feed you, then we will get some clothes. Whatever you want, the sky is the limit.”
“I can’t ask you to do that. If you want, we can go back to get some of my things. I can climb through my window. It’s never been secure.”
With a growl, I frame his face and stare into his eyes. “Unless we are going back so I can kill your father, you will not return there. Do you understand? You are mine now, so I will take care of you. And if I want to spend money on you, I will.”
“God, I’m sure that’s not supposed to be hot.” He claps a hand over his mouth. “Am I supposed to say God? Since, you know …?”
I chuckle, kissing him again quickly and leading him out of the house so we can get breakfast and go shopping. “You can say it if you want. I can as well, I just choose not to. I will not burn or anything like that.”
“Do all demons look like you?”
“What do you mean? Human?”
He nods and smiles as I put him in the car and slide his seatbelt on. When I climb into the driver’s seat, I answer his question. “If we want to take on this form. I look very different in my true form.”
“Can I see?”
I grin. “One day, baby. What do you want to eat?”
He directs me to a mom and pop diner the next town over that is practically empty. We have breakfast, Everest telling me more about his life and those that have mistreated him. There is his father, and some of his abuse I saw myself; his boss who I tried to convince him to stab in the neck before he summoned me; the sheriff who has been turning a blind eye to Everest’s abuse for years, as well as tormenting him for being gay; and his bully from school, Joey Michaels. Joey’s bullying was before my time, having last tormented Everest a few weeks before my mate turned eighteen. I had a vague awareness of the severe bullying from the thoughts that slipped through about it before Everest had the chance to shove them away, or the moments his emotions would take over when working on his graphic novels. He treated Everest like shit for years, making his days at school a living hell. He will die just as the rest will.
Everest stabs his eggs as he says, “He gave me hell since we were kids. It got even worse when people started saying I was a fa—” he cuts the word off and shakes his head, disgust and sorrow showing on his face in equal measures. “That’s what they called me since I was ten. After that, things with Joey got worse. Not just making me bring him money and calling me other terrible names, but beating me up after gym class, saying I looked at him while he was changing. That went on until senior year. He was a popular kid, so when others saw how he treated me, they followed suit. My time in school was terrible.”
“So you want him gone too?”
For the first time, steel enters those fathomless eyes and I feel my hearts quicken. Is he going to do it? “All of them, Raven. Everyone that’s done me wrong. They all need to die.”
“Is this your command?” I ask, leaning forward, hoping to hear the words.
“It is.”
I grin, inclining my head. I have my orders, now I just need to execute for Everest.
After breakfast, Everest directs me to a mall about an hour from the small town he lives in. He tries to be frugal, only picking up things that are on what is called a clearance rack. It takes some prodding—and a lot of begging—but I get him to buy the things he really wants, spending a good amount of money on everything he picks up.
We leave with at least five bags in each hand, Everest wearing a beautiful smile on his face. He seems lighter since deciding he really wants these people eliminated.
I did not think he would give me the command so quickly. He was so afraid this morning, I thought I would have to convince him to let me off my leash. But he was so brave, taking his life back and giving me permission to rob his tormentors of theirs.
Once back at the house, I relieve him of his bags and put everything away. I order us some dinner, and we eat in front of the fireplace, Everest peppering me with questions about Xendail.
A giggle bubbles from his throat as we talk about my home. “So you live in a tree? Won’t the fire burn it down?”
I grin at him with a shake of my head. “There is no fire. This is not like the fairy tales told to you. We do have fireplaces in the homes that are constructed of stone. And it is what you would call a treehouse here, but it is made of the tree. I cannot explain it more than that. I would have to show you.”
“Show me? I can really go?” His eyes are round, dancing with excitement.
“You can. But not until we are mated. You cannot cross to my plane unless you are tied to me. As I have not claimed you, you are not technically my mate.”
Everest pouts, his lip poking out adorably. “So we’re not dating?”
“We are here on Earth, but on Xendail, we do not date. We are only mated.”
He seems to accept that answer. “I’d like to see your treehouse. It sounds really beautiful.” He pauses thoughtfully, then asks, “There’s really no fire?”
“No fire,” I repeat with a laugh. “That is just a tale to make humans afraid of our home. It is warm there, but not because of any flames. It is just how we like it, so it is made so. Trust me, the only thing that will be a surprise to you is our … exhibitionism.” I smile at Everest raised eyebrow, but he does not ask me any questions.
After dinner, I tell Everest he can take a shower before bed. “Want to take one with me?” he asks shyly.
“I thought you’d never ask,” I answer huskily, grabbing him under his ass and hoisting him into my arms. I love how he feels when I carry him, light and warm, pressing himself against my chest like he never wants to leave.
When we get to the shower, I undress him, reveling in every inch of skin that is revealed. He is so beautiful, his slim, tanned body looking so edible. Every part of him is calling out to me, begging me to touch him and kiss him. But I tamp my desire down and focus on getting him under the water so I can wash him before bed.
I strip off quickly and Everest’s eyes grow wide when I drop my underwear. “Oh my,” he whispers as he stares at my dick.
“Do not worry,” I whisper to put him at ease, kissing him gently on the neck. “Your body belongs to me, so it will accommodate to my size. Besides, in my real form, I am much bigger.” At my words, Everest’s cock lengthens against my leg. His cock is about average but pretty thick. It flushes red as it bobs in the balmy air of the steamy bathroom. He will feel good in my mouth when I swallow him down.
“How much bigger?” he asks as he looks up at me.
“About four more inches and a little thicker.” Everest gulps. “Like I said, your body will adjust to take me. You will not be in any pain. I will always take care of you.”
“I believe you.” Everest climbs under the shower spray, tipping his head back. After I step in, I grab the shampoo and wash his hair gently. He moans, eyes squeezed shut as he holds onto me. “You’re so big.” He giggles softly. “Your body, not just your dick.”
I bark a laugh as I rinse the shampoo from his hair. “This body is six-five. I am over seven feet when I am in my demon form. Every part of me is bigger, baby.”
“It’s hard for me to even fathom that height. Do you look like a human in appearance when in your demon form or…”
Turning him around, I grab the body wash and cloth, washing his body. “No. My skin is a deep red with gold stripes. They are embedded in my skin, signaling I am the child of a greater demon. My father is more gold than red, the colors perfectly blending, signaling his position as a greater demon.” I lower myself to my knees in front of him so I can wash his legs. His cock is right in my face, but I resist the urge to open my mouth and suck him down. I will not take him in any way until he gives me permission.
“What other colors are there?” Everest lifts his foot so I can wash it.
“Other demons that are not greater demons or children of greater demons are usually a magenta red. Some have black stripes—those are demons that live on the fifth dimension. But most have a solid color.”
After I am sure he is clean, I drag a rag with the body wash Everest picked out over my body, not being as gentle with my body as I was with his. Shutting off the water, I help him out and dry him thoroughly. I do the same to myself, then get Everest in a set of brand new pajamas. We climb into bed, Everest practically on top of me. I would not have him any other way.
“Are you comfortable?” I ask, pulling the blanket higher on him in case he is cold.
“Fine.” He lifts his head and looks down at me with a wide smile. “You’re nice for a demon. Is that normal?”
“Make no mistake,” I tell him seriously, “I am not. I am nice to you because you are my mate and I would never hurt you. But to everyone else, especially those that have wronged you, I do not give a fuck about them and will show them no mercy. I am as deadly as they come, baby. I am a demon, after all.”
To my surprise, Everest leans forward and kisses me. He is taking all this in stride. “I’m glad you’re only nice to me. Makes me feel special.”
“You are, baby. So special.” I frame his face with my hands. “You may not be ready to mate yet, but can I touch you? Bring you pleasure? I will be gentle.”
He nods quickly, though he looks nervous. “Anything you want.”
“I want you to want it too.”
He smiles sweetly, placing his small, soft hand to my face. “I do.”
I roll him to his back, sliding between his legs. I slot our bodies together, my cock already hard from him lying on top of me.
Reaching for his pants, I ask, “May I?” I want to confirm his consent before I strip him naked since he is new to all this. He nods as he look at me with wide eyes.
I make quick work of taking his new pajamas off, wanting to feel his heated skin against me. His dick presses into my belly, leaking precome from his tip. I grab it, stroking gently as I surge up to kiss him.
Everest moans as my tongue glides into his wet mouth, his hands flying to my shoulders, squeezing me as I tug on his cock. I kiss him hard as I thumb over his cockhead, collecting some of his precome to use as lube to slicken the movement of my hand. Everest’s back bows, pushing into my fist with urgency. I smile against his lips, loving how responsive he is to this simple touch. When I finally have him, he will go wild. I cannot fucking wait.
Collecting my own length in hand, I hold our shafts together, pumping us off slowly, loving the sharp inhales and soft moans emitting from Everest. His faint mewls drift through our kiss, lighting me up as I make him fly high. I grasp him tighter, thrusting against him as I kiss him with abandon. My hand moves faster and Everest’s small moans are a dead giveaway just how good my touch makes him feel.
Pulling my mouth away, I look down at him, enjoying the look of pleasure and surprise on his face. His flushed cheeks and kiss swollen lips are a beautiful sight. The column of his throat bobs with every rough swallow, every harsh breath, every delighted groan. He opens his eyes and they lock with mine. His pupils are so blown, I can only see black. The look of surprise and ecstasy turns me on more, spurring me to push him over the edge, to show him just how good it feels to fall off that cliff without a parachute.
“Raven,” he whispers, taking his bottom lip between his teeth and biting down hard enough to leave behind impressions.
“Yes, baby,” I grumble, taking in his every reaction. I cannot wait to have him fully, to worship his body since it was made just for me. “Is it too much?”
Everest shakes his head, soft keens leaving his lips. “Not enough. Not … can I … touch you?”
“Anything,” I breathe, kissing gently over his reddened bottom lip.
His hands inch from my shoulder and move between us. Everest grasps me at the base, taking over stroking me. A loud groan explodes from my throat as Everest jerks me, touching me for the first time.
Fuck, he feels good. His soft hands grip me with the right amount of pressure, jerking me from my base to my cockhead with messy but deliberate strokes. My hips buck as I fuck the circle of his fist, wanting to get to that finish line because of his ministrations. Everest says he is inexperienced, but he is fucking perfect right now. Bringing me pleasure as he takes his own. I jerk him faster, my hand moving in a blur over his shaft.
“Oh god,” he moans, his hand faltering on me, but I could not care less. Watching Everest come apart like this keeps me rock hard, fluid oozing from my crown. I could watch him all day and never get tired of the sight before me.
Everest thrusts up into my palms, moaning wildly as he chases his orgasms. I bend and take his lips again, kissing him hard as I pump his cock, pulling every sound and twitch and moan from him.
“Please, Raven. I feel … I’ve never felt like this,” Everest moans when he snatches his lips from mine. “What are you …” His voice trails off as I twist my hand at his crown. “I’m … I’m… oh fuck!”
Everest trembles, his cock swelling in my hand. Tightening my grip, I jerk him off faster, trying to make him reach his climax. Three strokes later, Everest releases a strangled moan and his orgasm floods my hand. His hips buck in an uneven rhythm as I keep jerking him, pulling every last drop from him. Everest shudders, body bowing in on himself as he shudders.
He flops back on the bed, chest heaving as he gently moves my hand from his still hard dick. His body is pliant, laid out under me as if he does not want to move. I made a mess of his belly, his come saturating his skin.
Everest looks at me with half-lidded eyes and raises his hand to point at my straining erection. “Come, baby. I want to watch.”
Fuck, Everest will end my existence with his shy commands.
Giving him one last kiss, I sit back on my heels. I swipe in the mess on his belly, using his spend to bring myself pleasure.
As I stare down at him—his pink cheeks, swollen lips, lust filled eyes and his sated smile—I tug on my cock with fervor. It does not take me long to milk my orgasm from my cock onto him. Everest’s wide eyes stare at my hand as I work myself over, pushing me over the edge.
Leaning over his prone body, I come with a shout, painting his stomach and chest. Tremors roll down my spine as rope after thick rope of my release mingles with Everest’s.
To avoid falling over and crushing him with my weight, I sit back on my heels, matching the sated smile he wears. “That was amazing,” he says, his breathing still sawing in and out of his lungs, reflecting my own.
“It was. Are you okay?”
“Perfect, my big, hot demon.”
I give him a quick kiss, then snap my fingers and summon a wet cloth and a glass of water. I set the water on the night stand and get Everest cleaned up. When he’s free of our mingled eruptions, he drinks half of the glass of water. He hands it to me and I sip from it gratefully, my throat dry and raw from my moans and grunts.
When I am done with the water, I pull him against my chest, holding him close. “I am glad I have you, baby. I do not want to let you go.”
“Lucky for you,” Everest murmurs sleepily, “you won’t have to.”
