But when he smiles and says my name in that adorable accent, all of my common sense flies out the window.

Fin believes I’m method acting some elaborate fallen angel role, and I need her to keep thinking that. At least, until my wing heals and I locate the slavers threatening her world.
But living in her tiny dwelling, watching her care for me with such gentle kindness, is breaking down every wall I’ve ever built.
She deserves better than lies, and I deserve better than to fall for someone who can never be mine.
The longer I stay, the harder it becomes to remember this is temporary and that, when my mission is over, I’ll have to break both our hearts.
