“Yup. As a church mouse. The guy’s an addict who was able to disguise his addiction and live off of Wren for free. Looks like he got money from the club and his used car sales job, but he used it up on prostitutes. Any money we hope to get back will come from assets he has. Most likely the sex club, if the Fed’s don’t seize it.”

It disgusted me that Wren was with someone like that. Someone who used her. “I’ll sue him for all he’s worth.”

“Out for blood bro. In other news how are things there?”

The disgust over Billy instantly vanished from my mind, replaced with thoughts of Wren.

“Really good.” Too good. Last night I thought about how quickly my feelings for Wren developed. I wanted her to go to Rome with me. I wanted her to go home with me when we got back to Chicago. I wanted her to be wherever I was.

“Sounds it. You sound happy.”

“I am.”

“She still calling you AJ though?”

I knew he would ask me that at some point. “Yeah.”

“Okay, bro… you know how I always have your back, and understand your ways of doing things, but I’m your friend so I have to point out that –”

“I know it’s wrong.” I interrupted. “I already know.” And, I feared it had gotten to the stage where her knowing who I really was might put a damper on our relationship.

“So, Adam Jordin,are you going to tell her that you’re Adam Jordin?”

“Yes.” I was going to tell her tomorrow. “But now I’m worried about spoiling what we have.”

What I had with Wren was unreal. I didn’t think it was possible to feel this way about someone after only a handful of days. But really it wasn’t just these days. It was over the course of two and a half years.

“The longer you leave it, the worse it will get and it won’t matter what you did for her. That’s the part that will be spoiled Adam. Take it from me. The big crazy guy who definitely thought up every crazy ass thing in the book.” He laughed.

“I know.” I didn’t like thinking that Wren would be upset with me.

“You’ve done a lot for her. A lot. You at least owe her your real name.”

I sighed. “I know and I will tell her.”
