“A little one,” Zane said, pinching his fingers together. “No damage. Let’s get started,” he said, giving the crowd a smile that made them smile back.

Everybody loved Zane. As they took their places, the family split. Adam, August, Avi, Atticus, Archer, and even Aiden standing for Asa, and Noah, Lucas, Jericho, Felix, Thomas, and Zane’s friend, Blake standing for Zane.

When a sudden bout of energy hit Asa, he turned to look at Avi with wide eyes. His brother gave him a comically obvious thumbs-up, making the guests chuckle.

The music swelled, and Cricket pulled a little wagon up the aisle with the two smallest Mulvaneys decked out in white frilly dresses, taking a seat at the front.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join these men together in holy matrimony.” There was nothing holy about the things Asa wanted to spend the rest of his life doing to Zane, and the look he gave Zane made sure he understood that. Zane flushed, giving Asa that smile that made his dick hard.

Asa zoned out until Cricket hurried forward with the rings, handing one to each of them. Zane gave Asa a look that was part nervous excitement and part panic. Asa gripped his hand.

“Place the ring on his finger and repeat after me,” the priest said. “I Asa, take you, Zane, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.”

Asa repeated the vows, goosebumps erupting along his skin as he slid the ring on Zane’s finger.

The priest nodded, glancing down at his cards. “Zane, place the ring on Asa’s finger and repeat after me. “I, Zane, take you, Asa, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and—” The priest stumbled, frowning, startled eyes going from Asa to Zane. “Obey?”

Zane tilted his head, leveling a fake glare at Asa, who grinned at him. “What? It was worth a shot?”

Once more, the guests tittered.

Zane rolled his eyes and gave the priest a nod, letting him know he could continue.

“Till death do us part.”

Zane shook his head, looking much more relaxed. “I, Zane, take you, Asa, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to loveand to cherish, till death do us part.”

The ring felt cool against Asa’s now overheated skin. The priest continued to talk about marriage and responsibility and then made each of them say ‘I do,’ but Asa only cared about one thing.

“You may now kiss your husband.”

So, he did, thoroughly and completely in front of friends, family, strangers, and paparazzi. He kissed him like nobody was watching. He kissed him like he could somehow kiss away all of Zane’s fears and worries and doubts.

When he pulled back, Zane stumbled a little, cheeks flushed and gaze a little shocky. The crowd erupted in applause, but Zane stared at Asa like he was the only one in the room. Neither of them made any move to leave.

Avi leaned into their bubble. “You guys know you can’t stay here, right? You’ve got a whole reception to stare at each other like that. Looks great for the cameras. Maybe you can even sneak in a quickie during the cocktail hour.” When the priest cleared his throat, Avi winked at him. “Sorry, Padre.”

Once they were firmly tucked into the back of the limo, Asa dragged Zane into his lap. “Still worried?”

“I wasn’t worried,” Zane hedged.

“You were definitely a little worried.”

“It’s you who should be worried,” Zane teased. “We don’t have a prenup.”

Asa snorted. “The only way out of this family is with a bullet, Lois.”

“Are you threatening me on our wedding day?” Zane asked, clutching fake pearls.

“Me? Never. We’re forever, Lois. Even if I have to chase you down and remind you of that every night.”

Zane snickered. “As if you don’t chase me down almost every night as it is. Do you know how much makeup I have to wear when I record just to keep you out of the headlines?”

Asa kissed Zane’s cheek, then bit his ear. “I can’t help it. You bring out the beast in me.”

Zane turned his head to find Asa’s lips. “Well, I wouldn’t let just anybody chase me through the woods at night.”

Asa pushed the button on the partition between them and the driver. “Now, about that quickie.”
