I grunted. There was a legion of fellow Hunters at my back, but Xenos insisted that even one alpha would be a challenge for us.
We didn’t have our memories. We didn’t remember their weaknesses.
But… the wolves didn’t know that.
It seemed that this realm had been more or less exempt from the Echoes of Calamity.
Until now.
I glanced down at the compass again and it burned hotter than I’d ever seen it before.
“Which one do you think is corrupted?” I asked.
Xenos frowned. “I think it’s all of them.”
Well, shit.
Sighing, I pocketed the compass again and gripped my sword that I’d been holding steady against my thigh. I tapped my trusty blade against my belt again, then marched across the desolate landscape.
We approached until we were close enough to see the brawl in further detail.
“Let them fight it out,” Xenos decided.
I agreed.
Let them kill each other, or not. It didn’t really matter.
There would be blood.
There would be death.
There would be the enraged cries of those who didn’t understand why this was all necessary when we killed the survivors who were unfortunate enough to be infected.
But this was why I existed.
To make sure my mate and any in our mate circle would never have to experience corruption again.
To keep the realms safe.
In Lilith I pray… give me strength.
RYKER
I’d been at odds with my wolf during the High Moon Ceremony.
But we were on the same page right now.
Kill the invader.
Protect our territory.
Rip.
Out.
His.
Fucking.
