Page 19 of Monster’s Consort (Blackthorn Academy for Supernaturals #18)
“Hey, you two!” Delaney said, skipping over to us. Her long red hair blew in the wind and the sun lit up her pale skin like a halo. She bounded over to us, her ample breasts bouncing with each motion out of her triangle-cut yellow polka dot bikini.
Desmond looked up, and his entire body tensed. “Delaney, you, uh—” He cleared his throat. “Yellow is a beautiful color on you.”
She stopped just before us, grinning as she tucked her hair behind her ear.
I watched their interaction intently. The heat rolling off of Desmond was not missed and it was practically a flame all on its own.
He fought to keep his gaze on her face, but I knew he wanted to look at her breasts. Lust was pouring off of him.
And I realized our virginal incubus could indeed lust.
And if he could lust, he could covet. He could give in to his heat and have everything he wanted. He just needed to free the monster he kept trying to hide.
Could I help him obtain those things?
Did I want to help him obtain those things?
“Aren’t you coming?” she asked him, her brows furrowing in question.
“Huh?”
“You’re still clothed,” she said with a smirk.
“Oh! I, uh...”
“Dezzy’s afraid the water’s cursed,” I said, noting his embarrassment. I felt a keen desire to help the guy. He seemed slightly uncomfortable and he hadn’t brought anything with him. No towel or bag of clothes, or?—
Delaney rolled her eyes. “Oh, that’s just an old wives tale.”
“Can you be certain?” Desmond asked.
“Only one way to find out,” she said as she dragged him up by his shoulders. His cheeks reddened as she practically tore his shirt off.
It was faint, but I saw them. The sparks. Little red and ochre flames and green fractals.
His magic reacted to hers the way mine reacted to Violet.
Then she pushed him.
“Tag! You’re it!” And then she took off for the waves, leaving Desmond standing, shirtless, like a deer caught in the headlights.
My gaze flashed to his hand casually covering his cock. I did not miss the slight bulge there. And I couldn’t help but smile. “What are you waiting for?”
He let out a heavy breath.
“Are you afraid of a little water, Dezzy?”
“No,” he said bitterly.
“Then go get wet,” I said as he shook his head, sliding his pants off until he stood in his underwear. He hadn’t worn trunks, I assumed because he’d truly had no intention of swimming, but...
Sometimes plans changed. Sometimes you just had to follow the magic.
Desmond adjusted his cock, and I was impressed that he was able to keep his human visage. But I supposed he had more training holding in his monster, holding in his desire, than I did.
He took off in a run and dove into the waves, swimming out to meet Delaney and the Squid Squad.
I watched them all, enjoying the heat from the sun. I don’t know how long I stayed there, watching them. When Violet came to sit beside me, dressed in a sheer cover up and a pink high-waisted bikini, only then did I tear my gaze away.
She looked stunning in her suit. Her breasts were practically spilling out of her pink top, and if we hadn’t been in the company of friends, I would have taken her right on the beach with my knot and made love to her until her screams blended in with the crash of the waves.
I’d desired Violet from the moment I saw her, but ever since I’d claimed her, the desire was so much more.
Deeper.
I longed to be buried inside of her. I wanted to consume her, wanted her to consume me. I wanted everything in a way I’d never lusted before.
I lusted for her smooth skin and her sweet kiss, her warm insides wrapped around my heavy knot.
But I also lusted for her laugh and the heat of her breath on my neck.
I lusted for the mornings spent eating breakfast together and the moments we stole away.
I lusted for the halls of Blackthorn where we could walk side by side, hand in hand, and I lusted for the things that hadn’t even happened yet.
The things I wanted .
My confirmation.
Her Ardaim.
To bind myself to her in every way I could. Part of me wondered if I was being too much. Wanting the things I did. But Violet truly was my spark. She ignited desire within me like no one else.
She was my queen long before she was an heir to a throne, and she would always be my queen. Nothing would ever change that.
“How was your afternoon?” I asked as she curled next to me.
She leaned her head on my shoulder. “Mother said she and the O’Neils must travel for something important. She wouldn’t say what, or why, but she did say it could not be avoided.”
“You are scared.” I could feel her anxiety in my blood the same way she could feel my fire.
“What if she doesn’t come back?”
I looked at her, and then at Desmond splashing Delaney.
“Do you think the O’Neils would try to harm her again?”
She pursed her lips. “I don’t know, but strangely... I don’t think so.”
“Your mother and Sirus? Lithia?”
She nodded. “Desmond is to remain with us, yes.”
“I don’t think they’d hurt your mother, and leave their only son in our care. They must know we’d retaliate.”
She looked up at me with watery blue eyes, and it was like gazing at an ocean all on its own.
The depths of my love for this woman were as deep as the ocean before us. And just as enchanting.
“I thought this, too.” She turned to watch our friends frolicking in the sea. “He fits in here. With us,” she said calmly. “I think I like him.”
I wrapped my arm around her. “I don’t hate him.”
She giggled. “Well, I suppose that’s an improvement.”
“Do you want to swim?” I asked, changing the subject. “I hear the waters are magical.”
Violet pushed me down into the sand and laid her head on my chest. “Everything is magical with you,” she said with a shy grin.
Her smile lit up her bright blue eyes and I could see the faintest glimmer of lilac in them. My little faerie, my little spark.
She was right. Everything was magical with her in my presence. Even a day at the beach.
I traced my fingers through her hair, my cock already standing at attention despite the company. But they were all far enough away, they would not be able to see what my anam cara was doing to me.
I leaned on my side, and she snuggled close, putting her groin right against me. I thrust against her with a grin, watching her blush.
“Bane!”
I kissed her. Softly. Desperately. I could not get enough of her and I didn’t think I ever would.
She giggled as she pulled away, burying her face in my chest. The warmth beneath my skin was a fire all her making.
She yawned and held me tightly.
“Perhaps I can give you a spark of energy,” I breathed.
She looked up at me with so much warmth, I swore it rivaled the sun shining down on us. The laughter of our friends echoed in the air. Old and new.
And when Violet kissed me back, I felt the flames of our love ignite once again.
