Page 1 of Moments of Truth
There are days that pass like shadows across the wall: quiet, unremarkable, easily forgotten. They leave no mark upon the heart, no echo in the mind.
And then there are days that change everything. A glance, a word, a silence more telling than speech—these impress themselves upon us long after the hour itself is gone. They settle into memory like stones dropped in water, sending ripples outward through all that follows.
No one plans for such days. They arrive unbidden, disguising themselves in ordinary dress, concealed in errands, letters, or chance encounters. By the time we recognise their weight, they have already taken root, shaping what we are and what we may yet become.
It is in these unlooked-for moments that lives cross and shift. Sometimes gently, like branches brushing in the wind. Sometimes sharply, like steel meeting stone.
You may call them coincidences, or fate, or Providence. Yet whatever name one chooses, the truth remains: a life is not built by years alone, but by moments.
This is a story of such moments—of choices too small to be noticed until they proved impossible to forget.
And perhaps, before it is finished, you will remember your own.
