My chest tightened at the affection in Graham’s eyes, as he watched the child. There was no resentment or any sign of awkwardness. He seemed to truly accept the baby as if it was his. I hadn’t known until the moment the baby arrived exactly how he’d react. But it was obvious he’d been telling the truth all along when he’d said he wanted to raise this child as his own.

I smiled at him. “You’re the most amazing alpha.”

He laughed, pink tinting his cheeks. “No I’m not.”

“Yes you are.” I gazed proudly at the gold band on his ring finger. “You’re also the best husband, and I know you’ll be an amazing dad to our son.”

He swallowed, his eyes shining as if he felt emotional. “Our son.”

“Yes.”

“I love you, Sam.”

“Love you, Graham.”

I was so happy now, it was strange to think that, not even a year ago, I’d felt hopeless and lost. But then a dark eyed, dark haired alpha, with just a hint of silver at the temples, had walked into the diner that snowy night. It was weird to think Graham had been there in the background all along. He’d come and gone many times before, and I’d barely noticed him. And now, I couldn’t take my eyes off him. My every thought of the future included him.

One dark and stormy night, I’d missed the last bus of the evening. But because of Graham, I’d still reached the perfect destination.
