“You will do no such thing. I thought maybe we could go back to my place for a coffee. It’ll be quieter there, and we can talk some more.”
Who knew? Maybe we’d get to do something more. A girl could hope.
“I’d like that, actually.” She fidgeted in her seat, tracing the condensation on her glass with a fingertip. Was she as turned on as I was?
My pussy tingled, the thong I wore, damp.
“Do you want to finish your drink, or could we go now?”
She looked at her watch. The screen showed eleven. The night had passed quickly in her presence.
“I’m ready when you are.” She knocked back her drink and nodded to everyone at the table. “Nice to have met you.”
“Oscar, tell Sam to send me the bill for tonight. I’ll settle it tomorrow. Ellie and I are leaving, but you guys stay here and enjoy yourselves.”
A knowing smirk crossed his face. He could think what he liked, but no doubt he’d be on to me tomorrow for all the details.
Didn’t he know a lady would never tell?
I took Ellie’s hand and led her from the bar to the entrance reserved for exclusive residents. Only I and a few others used it. We walked slowly, content in each other’s company. I used my key card to let us inside.
“Good evening, Miss Reeves.” Walter was on duty, as always.
“Hey, Walter. This is my friend, Ellie Sharpe.”
“Good evening, Miss Sharpe. Weren’t you here the other day with the detective gentleman?”
“I was, yes.”
“Ellie is a detective too.”
I sincerely hoped she’d be here a little more, but I didn’t want to get ahead of myself. Tonight needed to go well.
The lift arrived, and we stepped in, neither of us speaking as it ascended to the penthouse floor.
We walked in silence down the corridor. As the fabric of her shirt brushed my arm, the hairs stood up. I opened the door and stepped through, Ellie closely on my heels.
“Can I get you a coffee?” I kicked off my shoes and walked into the kitchen, barefoot.
“Black, no sugar, thanks.”
“I know I pissed you off the other day when I told you I’d dropped the case against Godfrey.”
Her displeasure had been clear.
“I just don’t understand why you’re letting him get away with it.” She followed me into the kitchen.
“Believe me, I’m not. What he did to me, he’s done to countless others, but as my friend Rupert said, there are other ways to make him suffer.”
“Please tell me it’s not illegal. I don’t want to put you in cuffs.”
An image of me lying naked in bed wearing cuffs flitted through my mind. I was always up for it, and by the look on Ellie’s face, she wouldn’t say no either.
“You know”—I stepped towards her—“I’d be okay with that.”
I trailed my fingernail down her face, along her jawline, and down her chest to her impressive cleavage. Her nipples hardened as I retraced my path. A tingle spread through me.
“How… how are the bruises?” She gulped, her eyes now wide.
