A month later

“I must say, Mr. Masters, you’re one heck of a welcoming committee,” Kelly said to the man lying beside her in bed.

The man who’d brought her home from the airport, stripped them both naked, and proceeded to make love to her in a slow rhythm that left her begging for more.

He delivered, and she had enjoyed four delectable orgasms. From the feel of the erection touching her thigh, they weren’t through yet. Just taking a pause.

“How did things go in Missouri?” he asked.

“I’m surprised it took you this long to ask,” she said, grinning.

He grinned back. “I can’t help it that I needed to make love to you first. Your scent was calling my name.”

She could believe that. Her panties had been soaked the moment she’d seen him in baggage claim. She hadn’t known he would be there to meet her flight, but she was glad he was. Landon had been there to meet Monica as well.

Although Mr. Perkins had tried every trick in the book to block them from getting the land they’d inherited, the judge had ruled in their favor.

This week, she and her siblings had traveled to the farm in Missouri, and what they’d found was a veritable paradise made up of acres and acres of beautiful land.

No wonder Mr. Perkins had wanted to get his hands on it.

When he’d threatened to take them to court, Cortez, whom they’d hired as their attorney, had told him to bring it on.

In the end, Mr. Perkins discovered why Cortez was getting to be known around the country as a hot-shot attorney

“I didn’t know you were coming to Atlanta this weekend,” she said, curling closer to him.

“You never know when I may pop up, baby.”

“Well, just know when you do, you’re always welcome.” And to make sure he knew that, she had given him a key. Like her brothers, he thought she needed a bigger place.

“I told you a couple of months ago that I felt it was time to move out the penthouse and buy a home in Boston,” he said.

“Yes, I recall you saying that, Colton.”

“Well, I got a call from the Realtor I hired. She might have found the perfect place.”

“More perfect than your place in Savannah?”

He chuckled. “That’s a possibility. I’d love for you to check it out with me this weekend.”

“I’d love to.”

“And do you know what else I would like you to do?”

“No, what?”

Untangling their legs, he got off the bed and kneeled beside it. She leaned up to ask what he was doing, then blinked when she saw the small box in his hand. Then the ring. Her heart nearly stopped beating.

“Kelly?”

She swallowed deeply. “Yes?”

“I would like you to make me the happiest man on earth by saying you’ll marry me. Will you?”

Throwing back the covers, she launched herself into his arms and kissed him. A few moments later, he smiled and asked, “Is that a yes?”

“Yes!” she said. “It is definitely a yes.”

He slid the ring on her finger and her breath caught at how beautiful it was. “Oh, Colton. It’s gorgeous. I love it.” She then wrapped her arms around his neck and shed tears of happiness as he held her close.

“I can’t imagine living without you, Kelly. My parents love you. My brothers love you. Uncle Howey and Aunt Abigail love you. All the Masters love you. Everybody loves you.”

She pulled back, and wiped her eyes. “I love all of them, too.”

“So when?”

She knew what he was asking. She looked into his beloved face, and gave him the answer that would make all their dreams come true.

“Mom’s wedding is in October on Vernon’s birthday.

He intends for her to be his birthday gift this year.

” She paused, then added softly, “But I always wanted a June wedding.”

“That can be arranged. And since I have a lot of sky miles, we can manage a long-distance romance until then,” he said.

“We can handle it,” she replied. He got back in bed, and she snuggled closer into his arms.

“Sweetheart, we can handle anything. Because you, Kelly Perkins, are now the master of my heart.”
