Before I can protest, Finn is behind the wheelchair, his strong hands taking over.
The attendant nods and retreats into the hospital, leaving me completely in their care.
Kane leads us to the massive black SUV parked near the emergency entrance- clearly illegally, but no one seems to have ticketed them.
It must be nice to be so intimidating that even parking enforcement thinks twice.
Finn wheels me to the passenger side, where Jace has already opened the door. The interior lights illuminate their faces in the darkness, casting shadows that emphasize the sharp angles of their jaws. I can’t look away from how handsome all three of these men are.
Utter perfection.
“Easy now,” Finn murmurs as he helps me stand from the wheelchair.
His large hands are surprisingly gentle as they grip my upper arms, steadying me when I sway slightly.
The pain meds make everything feel tilted as if I’m on a boat.
Finn keeps one hand on the small of my back as I step up into the high seat of the SUV, his touch burning through the thin fabric of my dress .
I settle into the seat, and my gaze falls on the floor where my purse sits.
One of them must have grabbed it during the chaos with Justin. The sight of it sends a wave of dread through me. Everything inside connects me to my life with Justin: my keys to his apartment, my wallet with the address on my ID, and my phone with his texts.
The thought of going back to that apartment makes my stomach churn. Even with the pain meds, I feel sick at the idea of facing him again, of seeing the aftermath of what happened.
What if he’s waiting there, drunk and angry? What if he’s destroying my things?
“You okay?” Jace asks, sliding into the seat beside me. The SUV is enormous, with a wide back seat that comfortably fits the three of us, with me in the middle, Jace to my right, and Kane climbing in on my left. Finn jumps into the driver’s seat.
“Yeah,” I lie, clutching my purse closer with my good hand.
The men exchange glances over my head. I can feel the weight of unspoken communication passing between them. Finn starts the engine, and the vibration hums through the seat and into my bones.
“Can I... can I stay with you all? Just for tonight?” I ask in a small voice.
The SUV goes silent, and the men stop talking.
I can hear everyone’s breathing, including my own, suddenly loud in the confined space. I don’t dare look up, afraid to see rejection or, worse, pity in their eyes. Seconds stretch into what feels like hours until Kane speaks.
“You think we’d take you back to that piece of shit?” His voice is rough, almost angry. It makes me flinch. “Look at me, Mia.”
I turn my head slowly, meeting his eyes. The way he’s staring at me takes my breath away .
“We would never let you go back there. Not tonight. Not ever,” Kane growls. “That fucking animal hurt you. He put his hands on you. If he ever comes near you again, I’ll tear him apart with my bare hands. Do you understand me?”
The vehemence in his voice should frighten me. Instead, a rush of warmth floods through me, settling low in my belly.
“Yes,” I whisper, unable to look away from him.
“Good girl,” he says, and the praise sends another wave of heat through me. Something about the way he said it makes my heart pit-patter wildly in my chest.
Finn pulls the SUV out of the hospital parking lot, the movement making me sway. Without thinking, I lean against Kane’s solid arm, my head resting on his shoulder. He stiffens for a second, then relaxes, his body heat warming me through his jacket.
“You comfortable?” he asks, his voice softer now.
I nod, the fabric of his jacket rubbing against my cheek. The pain medication is making me float, but it’s also lowering my inhibitions, making me hyper-aware of Kane’s masculine scent. His scent is very woodsy and intoxicating, and the firmness of his body next to mine is making my pussy throb.
On my other side, Jace shifts closer, his thigh pressing against mine. He rests his hand casually on my knee. Even though it seems casual to him, the weight of his palm sends a jolt of electricity straight to my core.
“How’s the wrist feeling?” Jace asks, his fingers tracing small, soothing circles on my thigh.
“Better,” I manage to say breathlessly, though my voice sounds weak to my own ears. “The meds are working.”
“Good,” he murmurs, his hand firmly squeezing my thigh, which makes my pussy instantly clench.
What is happening to me? I’ve never reacted this way to a man’s touch before- definitely not Justin’s. But Jace’s hand on my thigh is making my entire body hum with awareness, and Kane’s solid presence beside me feels like a magnet pulling me closer.
A strange heat begins to build between my legs, an insistent throbbing that won’t stop. To my horror, I feel wetness gathering, soaking through my panties in a way I’ve never experienced before. This isn’t normal arousal. This is something entirely different, something overwhelming and primal.
My face flushes hot with embarrassment as I realize that fluid is leaking from me, a steady pulse of wetness that seems to increase with every breath I take. What’s wrong with me? Is this a side effect of the medication?
The SUV suddenly feels warmer, the air thicker. I shift uncomfortably in my seat, pressing my thighs together, which only intensifies the sensation. My heart races, and my breathing quickens. I risk a glance at Kane’s face. His nostrils are flared, and his eyes are darker than before.
Can he smell me? The thought is mortifying yet strangely exciting. I look down and freeze.
Kane’s erection strains against his dark jeans, the outline visible even in the dim light of the car.
It’s massive, the thick ridge pushing against the fabric so forcefully that I can see the seams straining.
The zipper looks ready to burst from the pressure, creating a bulge so prominent it’s impossible to miss.
His cock twitches visibly beneath the denim, a powerful thrust that makes my mouth go dry.
I can’t look away. My breath comes faster and shorter as I stare at the evidence of his arousal.
Compared to Justin’s, there’s no comparison at all. Justin was always small, barely noticeable, even when fully hard. But Kane... God, Kane looks like he could split me in two with that thing.
Another gush of wetness flows between my legs at the thought.
I tear my gaze away, only to find myself looking at Jace instead. He’s watching me with hooded eyes, his pupils dilated. Like Kane, his erection is clearly visible in his jeans, straining against the fabric. His hand on my thigh has stilled, his fingers digging in slightly.
I think about Justin, about our lackluster sex life, and how he’d always finish in minutes, leaving me unsatisfied and empty. These men seem different. They seem like they’d take their time. Like they’d ensure I was pleased before thinking of themselves.
The scent in the car grows stronger- a sweet, honeyed aroma that I suddenly realize is coming from me. From between my legs. From the slick wetness that continues to gather there.
“I’m sorry,” I whisper, mortified. “I don’t know what’s happening. Could you roll down the window? The smell-”
“Why would we want to do that?” Jace asks, his voice strained. “And make this delicious scent disappear?”
I stare at him, my embarrassment mingling with growing confusion and arousal. “You... like it?”
“Like it?” Jace laughs, a sound that’s almost a groan. “Honey, you have no idea.”
Kane shifts beside me, adjusting himself with a grimace that speaks of discomfort. But when his eyes meet mine, they are dark with hunger.
“You smell fucking incredible,” he says roughly. “Keep the window closed, Jace.”
From the front seat, Finn makes a sound that’s almost pained. His knuckles are white on the steering wheel.
“Fuck,” Finn grunts, making me blush.
“Focus on driving,” Kane barks at him. “This is not the time or place.”
My mind spins with confusion and desire. Why am I reacting this way to them? Why is Kane so angry?
It doesn’t make sense, but in this moment, drugged on pain medication and surrounded by their heat and scent, I don’t care about making sense. I only care about the throbbing ache between my legs, the empty feeling waiting to be filled.
