Page 30 of Marcellus
Wes had never thought about it, but holding his daughter and watching his mate change his son, he wasn’t completely opposed to it. He loved their little family, and giving birth to his children was the best thing he’d ever done. Wes kissed Alia’s head.
“Maybe one day. Let me get the gallery together first though.”
“Whatever you want, baby.” Marcellus kissed his cheek and continued to change Oliver.
“I love you.” Wes nuzzled against his back.
“I love you too.”
They finally managed to wrangle the twins into their clothes. It was perfect timing because Wes’ mom was at the door and waiting for them. Wes opened it, and she beamed before she hugged her son tightly.
“Wes!” She took his hands and stepped back. “Look at you, just glowing. Where are my grandbabies?”
“Right this way.”
She followed him down the hall to the dining room where they’d prepared lunch. Marcellus quickly walked over and gave Kiara a hug. They’d been exchanging emails and phone calls, and Wes smiled at them finally getting to meet in person.
“Marcellus, you look even better than the pictures.” She grinned up at him. “And those cubs!”
Wes laughed as she walked over to the babies safely tucked into their bouncy chairs. She played with their toes and booped noses until Wes was done setting food down and he called her to eat lunch.
“They’ll still be there when we’re done eating, Mom.” He laughed.
“I know. I just can’t resist them.” She smiled at the babies before she sat down at the table. “So, what’s been going on with you two? Despite the little angels.”
Marcellus poured her a glass of wine. “Business as usual for me. Working from the computer only now with the added benefit of baby puke and pee usually hitting me at least once a day.”
“It’s been weeks.” Wes served up the baked chicken he’d made. “You’d think he would have learned how to duck,” he muttered.
Kiara nearly choked on her wine. Marcellus narrowed his eyes at his mate, but they sparkled with mischievousness. Wes knew he was going to pay for that later in the most delicious ways.
“What about you, Wes?”
The omega sat down and grinned. “Actually, things are wonderful. Marcellus helped me open up a gallery in Manchester. I hired someone to run it for me. There’s a second one here in the Lake District opening next week.” Wes smiled. “Everything’s been going so well.”
“And you were so worried you wouldn’t get to sell your art anymore,” Kiara smiled. “I told you that you could be an artistanda parent.” She glanced between them. “I’m so proud of both of you.”
Wes had never felt so content. He never thought he would get to have a family of his own, but now he was surrounded by family and he still got to indulge in his career as well. Marcellus reached over and laid a hand on top of his.
“I’m just grateful.” Marcellus’ eyes looked watery, and Wes jumped up from his seat. He sat on Marcellus’ lap, and the alpha kissed him and laughed. “Sorry, it’s hard not to get emotional when it comes to Wes and our pups.”
“I love it.” Kiara smiled at them. “You’re an amazing man, Marcellus, and from what I hear, a great father.” She gently reached out and touched Oliver’s head. “It’s such a relief that my Wes has found love. I was so worried about him.”
“Mum,” Wes frowned. “You were?”
“Of course I was. You were so isolated.” Kiara shrugged. “Now, I feel like I can live my life. I don’t have to worry about my boys anymore.”
“Is that code for you’re about to go out and get yourself a sexy tiger man?” Marcellus winked.
Wes slapped his arm. “Annnd... you ruined it!”
The alpha and Wes’ mother snorted. Wes rolled his eyes. Why on Earth had he ever let the two of them get together? They were ridiculous. Marcellus kissed the back of his neck.
“I’ll behave.” He felt Marcellus’ smile against his back. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.” Wes couldn’t stop the grin on his face.
“Awww,” Kiara cooed. “Now, let’s talk about more babies.”
Wes groaned. “Is it too late to escape?”
“If we move quickly and leave her with the babies, I think we’ll be in the clear.”
Kiara raised a brow. “You both say that as if I’ll be upset if you’re gone. I really just came for the kids.”
They all laughed, and Wes’ heart had never felt so full.
He knew he was lucky. He got to have his mate, his brothers, his babies, and now his mom. Even his brothers weren’t as blessed as he was. He knew how much it weighed on Axel, Alfie, and Rowan not being able to tell Sharon, their mom.
He wasn’t sure how he’d gotten so blessed, but he sure as fuck wasn’t taking it for granted. Even when he was covered in baby piss.
