Page 43 of Malicious Marriage (Mafia Lords of Sin #9)
Warmth sweeps down my spine in the form of Dean’s gentle kisses until he reaches the rise of my ass and then he pauses. His fingers sweep a soft line back up my spine to my shoulder as he kisses around my hip and then he very slowly rolls me over.
“Mmm, let me sleep,” I mumble while making no attempts to stop him.
“Can’t sleep,” comes Dean’s muffled voice from under the covers. “I have to pick your sister up from the airport in two hours.”
“Means we can sleep for another hour.” I don’t want to open my eyes. I’m chasing the lovely dream in my mind as it escapes my thoughts and leaves nothing more than a tingling warmth.
“Traffic,” Dean mumbles. His lips kiss a path over my stomach and then he buries between my thighs with a groan. “Besides, you don’t have to do anything. Just let me.”
His breath tickles against my pussy and I squirm, unsure if I want to move away or closer to his warmth. My answer comes in a roll of my hips when he slips his warm, soft tongue between my outer lips and licks over my clit.
“Mmm, fine,” I say lazily, finally opening my eyes and lifting the covers so I can peek at him. “But if you make it so I can’t walk, then you’re going to feed Bethany.”
“Deal.” Dean suddenly shoves his face against my pussy with a deeply satisfied groan and focuses on swirling his soft tongue around my clit. Two fingers lazily caress the outside of my entrance and as Dean firms his tongue to a point and flicks at my clit, he slides one finger deep inside me.
Heat lazily warms my body as he works and familiar pleasure coils through my lower belly. Each flick and suckle of his lips and tongue further stokes the flames of desire. I press my head back into the pillow and arch my hips into his hungry mouth while twisting my hand into the duvet and moaning.
Closer and closer he brings me to orgasm, and before I know it, I’m coming around his skilled fingers and tongue while writhing back and forth beneath the sheets.
“Shit,” I gasp, arching fully off the bed as pleasure crests through me. I collapse back with a gasp and my core clenches rhythmically around Dean’s pumping fingers as my climax drags on for a few long, pleasurable minutes.
When it’s over, Dean’s over the top of me and he kisses me sweetly with his damp chin. “Good morning, Mrs. Savoy.”
“Good morning, Mr. Savoy.”
“Deal’s a deal.” He grins. “I’ll feed Bethany.”
“Mmm, good,” I say lazily, slowly kissing him.
“But we should really talk about when I can put another baby in you.” Dean waggles his brows as he kisses me one last time. “Bethany should have a sibling.”
I cup his cheek and study his sparkling eyes. “You really think you can handle a toddler and a newborn at your age?”
“Ouch!” Dean’s nose brushes against mine. “I’d expect claws if I hadn’t just eaten you out, but damn.” Laughing softly, he pulls away and climbs out of bed. “But we should think about it, right?”
I prop myself up onto one elbow. “Is this because Bobby and Frankie are looking to adopt another child? Has it given you baby fever?”
Dean stretches his arms above his head and I lose my focus on the gorgeous swirls of muscle down his strong back.
“No, but I’ve been thinking. A year ago, we were flying back from Greece and everything felt like it was crumbling.
Life felt like it was crashing to a stop.
Now look at us.” Dean moves to the closet and selects a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, dressing quickly.
I watch him with nothing but love in my heart.
A year ago, he also wouldn’t have worn a T-shirt and instead chose to hide his burn scars under a shirt.
Now he wears anything he wants and shows them off proudly.
It helps that the world now knows the truth about the fire which, even though it was twenty-six years ago and those around barely remember, it’s important to Dean.
“Now we have this fancy new house on the outskirts of New York,” I tease softly. “Bobby and Frankie live next door in their own manor. Hailey and Duke have twins and are open to a relationship with us. We’re at peace with the Russians.”
“Thanks to you,” Dean says as he pulls his jeans over his perfectly sculpted ass.
“Well, it helps that Malcom kept every bit of dirt he had on them. It was easy to make them back down after that.”
“Exactly.” Dean zips up his jeans. “I couldn’t have made peace that quickly.”
“You’re welcome.” I smirk. “Did I miss anything?”
“Only the most important thing!” Dean gapes at me, then he passes through the sheet curtain separating our bedroom from the baby’s room. Thirty seconds later, he returns with our five-month-old bundle of joy still fast asleep in his arms. “This adorable little nugget.”
“A baby!” I gasp in faux shock. “How did I forget that we have a baby?”
Dean affectionately rolls his eyes. “Don’t make me call the doctor.”
“I’m kidding.” As I stare at them both, my heart surges with love. “I could never forget her. Or you.”
Dean nuzzles against Bethany and after a moment, she begins to wail. “There we go,” he coos. “Breakfast time! And you.” He looks back at me. “Don’t rush.”
“So you can have all the bonding time with her?” Throwing the covers back, I laugh as I sit up. “I don’t think so. I do have to shower, though, so I’ll see you down there.”
Bethany begins complaining loudly, so Dean winks at me and pads barefoot out of the bedroom while singing to her.
I stand, cover myself in a housecoat, and move to the window.
Opening the curtains, I’m greeted by a gorgeous blue sky showing off the burning July sun and an extravagant garden that’s filled with as many kids' toys as it is plants and flowers.
How is this my life?
How did I go from nothing… to this?
Some days, I still can’t believe Dean stayed with me, but he truly meant it when he said he wanted to work through things.
We spent days, weeks even, talking through absolutely everything, and he showed me that when someone truly loves you, they are willing to communicate and work through things to ease the pain and fix things.
He forgave me quickly, and while we still had a few bumps in the road, we grew into a strong team.
Now, with Bobby living next door and retired from guard duty since his heart attack, I get to see him every day as a friend without the guilt of what happened. He and Frankie very graciously agreed to be Bethany’s godparents, which had me crying for almost two days straight.
I shower and dress quickly, then head down to the kitchen in time to watch Dean rock Bethany gently while giving her a bottle. It immediately brings me to tears and when Dean spots me, his brow furrows.
“Darling, what’s wrong?”
I’ll never get tired of that. “I’m fine,” I say, heading for the coffee. “Just seeing you two together reminds me how lucky I am.”
Dean affectionately rolls his eyes. “We’re both lucky, huh?”
“That we are.” Pouring myself a cup, I lean back against the counter and watch. “So, Hailey and Duke are bringing the twins and they’re staying for the whole month. Do you think they’ll be okay in the guest house?”
“Oh, definitely.” Dean nods. “Besides, Jack renovated that place himself so I know it’s safe.”
I snort. “He only renovated it because he saw Carmen’s team working on fixing the driveway and wanted to impress her. I’m not sure safety was on his mind.”
“It worked, didn’t it?” Dean chuckles. “They’ve been dating what, four months now?”
“I think so. We should invite them to dinner. As friends, y’know, not as a bodyguard.”
“I think he’d like that.” Dean nods. “But who would watch the kids?”
I pause, sipping my coffee. “Don.”
Dean nearly chokes. “You think Don could watch Bethany, Thomas, and Hailey’s twins?”
The thought of Don, in his silver years, trying to take care of four children is hilarious and we both break out laughing. “Okay, maybe not Don. We’d have to hire someone if we want a proper adult night with no kids.”
“I don’t trust anyone with my star,” Dean says, cooing down at Bethany.
I walk closer and kiss his shoulder, watching as Bethany’s gigantic eyes lock onto mine and she smiles around the bottle’s teat.
“Maybe we just ignore the adult part of the dinner and invite everyone for a messy one instead. Parents and kids.”
“That sounds like a great idea.” Dean grins. “I feel like Don will be much more appreciative if I tell him he’s on his own with the business for a night, rather than kids.”
“Then it’s a plan.”
“I love you,” Dean says, his tone suddenly warm and serious. “I love you both more than I ever thought was possible.”
“I know.” I smile up at him and kiss his cheek. “I love you more.”
After the loss of my father, the betrayal of my uncle, and the rejection of my sister, I thought my life was over. But it turns out it was just the beginning.
It’s nice to have my own family who loves me.
I’m happy.
Dean’s happy.
Life is good.
